Tour of Egypt presented.

It will be a 2.1 race in 2011 and will be part of the WorldTour in 2012.

Pat McQuaid says it is an important step in the globalization of pro-cycling.

The Schleck brothers have been announced as participants in the first edition of the race. Here they are seen at the presentation yesterday:

Any word on the route or the date? I assume this will be an early-season warm weather complement to the Tours of Oman and Qatar, is it expected to have a similar short-stage sprinter-friendly profile?

(I think) there is no tour of Oman next year. Couldnt find it on the calendar

Damn beat me to it. Get ramps up Pyramids. Artificial hills. Its an idea that is needed in cycling for things like the London 2012 olympic road race.😉

Maybe in the Tour, get a ramp up to space mountain.

I forgot about africa when I imported everything onto my desktop calander. Only imported world, europe, asia and toC. Doh
