It was really fun, not exactly a bike race, more of a reality tv show :p with the kids and the garages.

Though I'm usually not a fan of van Avermaet, I'm now happy for him (with the CCC situation and him not being the youngest rider).

Greg could to raise his arms and show some emotions for the sake of fun. Nevermind. I actually kinda liked it. In these times of replays of sport events this live show with actual pros was fun.

It would be an interesting twist for an ITT to be run in this manner as it would go a long way towards equalising conditions for all riders. When all riders know the gaps whilst riding and not just the last one out could make for a subtle change of dynamics and how they all choose to ride.

Greg is a real athlete, a true Flandrien with perhaps the highest basic level of all pro riders. He has a virtual Ronde now, hopefully there's still a genuine one to follow. He really deserves it. Today could've been the day, with such beautiful weather.

It was entertaining television and a big thanks to the people and organisations who made it work. It will never replace real cycling, but in days like these it's the best we could wish for.

It was fun, but it would be more interesting if it had been the full distance and a full peloton. Do these platforms take into account downhill (relative to weight) as well?

You definitely get benefit from drafting. However it does not calculate whether your body and positioning is more or less aero than another’s. So a rider who would normally benefit from being more aero won’t in this situation. All watts per kg.

Not a bad sizing up at all.
Interesting racing situation to compete in and watch.
The fittest won, it seems, and the advantage in numbers didn't mean as much as it does in the real situation.

Works as an occasional amusement and situational training for the riders, but can't make up the real thing.
Kudos to the riders taking part in this little show.

Yes. They try to make it as real as possible. On steep descents you will speed up to around 70/80 km/h without pedaling.
Zwift races are between a TT and a road race, but it suits more the time trial riders with a good sprint. You have to push more in the bunch then in real life.

Here is the Flanders race from Alpecin-Fenix. The pros couldn't match up the zwift specialists. It was a exciting race by the way. Worth a watch I think :)
