I'm off to watch the Tour of Lombardy in October. No bikes, no cars, just legs and public transport. Does anyone have any good tips? I heard rumours about the route being changed again, but maybe from 2012, so right now I'm planning on a Milan start and a Como finish. We're going to watch the start of the race for sure. Is there anywhere else people particularly recommend that's viable without a car or bike? I'd love to go on the Ghisallo and read somewhere about a bus. Any thoughts on Como or the final hill just outside it? And has anyone ever hopped across Lake Como on a ferry to catch the race at different points?
I've got fairly good at the Belgian classics now but Italy is new to me.
