Apologies if there's already a thread on this. Recently I had four bikes stolen including my road bike which was my biggest hobby. They were well locked and stolen in broad day light off a campervan. Whilst I hold no faith in them being found I intend to buy again and try more locks, but I believe trackers hidden may prevent me from this frustrating and hugely financial situation again. As I could rescue the bike. Or be alerted as the theft is in progress (I was 2 minutes away when it happened).
Any personal use of trackers there effectiveness etc. would be most gratefully received, many thanks.

A tracking device is a radio transmitter. It can only be of use if there is a receiver and (usually) a human operator monitoring it. Some new cars are sold with this service that usually starts costing money after the first year or so.

Your best bet is to have photos, serial numbers, and purchase receipts on file. When a loss occurs, notify local police and bike shops, ebay agents, consignment shops, and pawn shops. And monitor craigslist.

Most of that has been done. Regards. It occurred in Spain so in addition I have been trawling through local bike sale sights and Spanish versions of EBay etc.
Realistically I hold zero hope. I am currently looking into the best bike locks and tracking devices. There does appear to be some on line which claim to send a signal and therefore help recover a stolen bike. I may try to contact these companies asking questions. Thanks.

Insurance companies propose trackers for valuable items (at least for cars), I guess it exists for bikes as it is just a RFID ship and it is very small and easy to stick on the bike.
