Are training camps really delivering, or just a cycling holiday wrapped up as an insider pass?

For me it is both. Our team does our training camp in Spain, and it's a great way to get a week's worth of hard mountainous rides in. I do think the hard block of training helps in the month following the camp. But, it's also a fun vacation, where you get to ride in places you normally don't visit.
