Maybe I'm blind, but where did the sticky thread about rider transfers and rumours go??? Can anyone help me?

mod comment: looks like we lost that thread for good. So this is no longer the interim thread, but the official one, with the first chunk missing in action.

I have no idea, I posed the questions to the other moderators. But for now, this is the interim thread for transfers and rumours, untill we find the real thread

Sometimes what I'll do if I lose something, I'll just start picking up and cleaning until it reappears. It can be very therapeutic.

That's a shame. Hope he will return to pro cycling some day.

I'm not sure if it were mentioned in said missing thread but Hunt and Appolonio are confirmed as to be joining Sky. Seems like Sky are starting to get their lead-out train ready for Cavendish's future arrival...They surely have loads of sprinters now.

Team Motorpoint Marshalls Pasta have officially disbanded. Quote from the team

'Regrettably the team in its’ current format won’t be racing in 2011. As a result of several riders choosing to concentrate on the Olympics or sign for other teams, the decision was taken to disband the existing team with immediate effect whilst other team options for next year are explored'

Shame really.

He's confirmed that he'll ride for Concordia next season, where he'll team up with his brother. :) At least he's not giving entirely up on cycling.

I just saw that he only had 32 race days this year. Has he been injured or something or is there some other reason why he hasn't raced much at all.

I guess this can be the problem of going out as a pro to early. I know some riders have had trouble adjusting to new circumstances at such an early age so they just take a step back. Being a pro rider can be a pretty lonely thing since most of the time you are left to fend for yourself in perhaps a new country and a with a new language.

He said that the problems started in May. An apparently, they are a lot more social on Danish continental teams than HTC Columbia, which he missed as well.

His motivation came back during Tour of Denmark, but disappeared right after the race once again. He was just to young I think :)

Ya, sounds like it. Does anyone know where he lives? Usually riders don't socialize specifically with their team mates but rather with the riders that live near them that they train with. If I was going out as a pro I would make sure to live somwhere where I have people knew that I can spend time with. There are certain places around europe where there are clicks of scandinavians that train together. Luxembourg has a place like that for example. EBH has even managed his situation by not leaving Norway at all and still has near to his friends and family.

Guldhammer said some less then complimentary things about Riis, so it would quite a u-turn if he goes to Riis.

Guldhammer lived in Italy, not sure where though.

I'm really hoping he'll get his motivation back to ride pro again at some point, he's a very talented guy.

He lived in Lucca. TJVG once mentioned it.

Team Sky has announced two new DSs. First it's Nicolas Portal who has been rumoured for some time to be stopping his career due to heart problems and he will now continue as DS. The other new DS will be Servais Knaven. Although he's new to DSing he has a wealth of knowledge that will serve them well in the classics.

Cancellara to Team Lux according to the belgian newpaper Sportwereld for a fee of €1.83M.

Wow, they love their cycling there. Its the off season and 3 of the top page stories on this Sportwereld are about cycling. UCI, something about Gilbert personal life and something about the UCI. Cycling heaven. I got to check out that site during RVV or TDF.

Think Servais did a bit last year with Milram.. Could turn into a decent ds, got plenty of classics experience. Not sure how much Portal will offer, shall see.

I think it was in the second half of the season this year after he retired.

I think Portal will at least be better than the random support staff they threw into the role during this year. Though I agree it's Knaven that is the interesting news.
