TRO BRO LEON 2015

It's a shame this race falls on the same day as Amstel Gold and will likely get no live streaming/coverage. A friend of mine found a few years back by accident and turned me on to it. In my opinion, it's a hell of a lot more exciting than Amstel, but seeing as it is sandwiched in among the Spring Classics, it will likely see little growth or expansion. Also, it seems like all the big draw names will be at Amstel, or ramping up their spring programs at other stage races. Shame, because it looks like a complete and utter sufferfest. Me and the savages I ride with do a century every year with a very similar parcours to this race, so it is especially fun to watch. Check out the Teaser Trailer on Youtube- you never see a shot with the sun shining through the whole thing, and it is often raining or looks like it has just recently rained. Dirt roads, cobbles, mud, gravel, rollers, rain- this race has everything.

Anyway- if anyone reads this and has located a source for streaming, please post here.

Appreciated and cheers.

Get out and ride.

Everybody here loves Tro Bro Leon. Unfortunately its position is hurt less by the clash with Amstel (apart from a few, the type of rider who will specialize in the hilly Classics and the type of rider who will specialize in the flat, rough surfaces of the ribin of Brittany are not the same) and more by being after Roubaix; a lot of the big rouleur names will call an end to their spring campaign after the cobbled madness of the north.

I would have hoped for a bit more WT participation especially as Ag2r are only entering 5 riders, but there's a decent ProConti field there for a 1.1 race. Would certainly have liked a better field because this is a great race.

Yep, I know which race to watch come Sunday.

A better field could result in more boring racing, but the exposure would likely be better. I think French TV will broadcast the race, but not sure.

Brittany is simply a fantastic place:

But of course this race is about the dirt roads (ribinoù):

What's the weather suppose to be like?

Today it rained, tomorrow it will be dry. Dont knwo if the roads will still be muddy by then.
Another important factor: the wind, 35 km/h from North East

TV for Amstel and laptop for this race tomorrow..

At least in my dreams.. Don't think the kids will agree :)

See, that's harsh. It means I hope they never move up to 1.HC, because the UCI's proposed calendar reforms repulse me and show no understanding or respect of the history of the sport, all in the name of trying to copy F1, where they can follow the money and kill off all the historic races where the audience is already built in. Presumably with the aim of selling tickets to set areas like worked oh so well for the Ronde van Vlaanderen parcours.

Geniez! I thought Geniez was more of a climber though? Pretty good from him if he manages to win this race then.

Those FdJ climbers are pretty versatile, apparently. Arnold Jeannesson's been doing alright in this race too, but at least he is a cyclocrosser. Pretty odd race to win for a guy like Geniez, though. Perhaps his past as mountainbiker came in handy? Anyway, as a follower of Geniez, I'm quite fond of this.
