TV commentators

It's striking that I have had pathological liars sat in my living room for more than fifty years. The above link is one such example. A commentator fabricating an entirely false narrative from as long ago as 1962.

The man in in the clip is the late David Coleman who was synonymous with track and field in the UK. What is extraordinary for school children of my generation is that we would study Orwell, then come home and listen to the likes of Coleman. Seemingly incapable of seeing the irony.

Leaving aside salaried liars like P & P anyone got anecdotes from around the World they would like to share of similar feelings of disillusionment?

scandalous

hi i think i know where you are coming from........but i miss the relevance of the U tube clip...........summed up by the

italian kung fu kick at 2,32............how else could such be reported?

here in the clinic members have for years rallied against blinkered reporting from sherwen/liggett etc

recently i thought steve cram was going to react honestly for the beeb when he reported..........'to be

honest myself and all reporters are complicit in the iaaf scandal........ but then went on to add

....for not being more active in overseeing those who administer our sport....................'

Coleman's narrative was to claim one side was responsible for the violence. Any fair minded person should be able to identify that this is manifestly untrue. Yet he makes no attempt to be objective. This is where the breakdown occurs. I would maintain that the lack of objective reporting has contributed disproportionately to the moral collapse of professional sport.

Moral collapse in sport? In a blog whose preoccupation is, er, moral collapse in sports?
