The importance of Syria is not its oil, but land access for pipelines that would circumvent Russian holdings and reach the Mediterranean from the Gulf and beyond. Hence part of Russia's presence in Syria
that was the original plan however Syria has it's own oil reserves and that is in the region the Kurds are trying to claim as their own

Righto, that second Gulf War had nothing to do with ISIS..

They are in Syria, not Turkey..it was in all the papers.

Righto, leave Syria, Iraq and Turkey to Russia and Iran..makes perfect sense..And the

'Cleansing' of Assad's own citizens, BY ASSAD, barrel bombs filled with ball bearings, in civilian populations, targeting hospitals and schools, that's really no big deal-eh?

You sound like trump..let's take Iraq'a oil!! Your boy donnie says all the time the USA is the largest energy prducer there is..you must be very proud...
okay sport

I think it is fascinating how anybody could think that ISIS, Taliban, Al Qaeda.. Boko Haram , Procol Harum, Kajagoogoo or any other terror group was started, organized or encouraged by Obama.
Islam is not accepting on face western things. But neither is the west. Radical Islam compared to what? Isis carefully slicing off heads is different than Trump pal crown Prince slicing and dicin g taking a guy out w the trash?
Donald was up to a very short time ago negotiating with a terror group inside Afghanistan..but not w the recognized government of Afghanistan. A little sticky point was the idea that the radical group may break a gentleman's agreement and murder if girls were allowed to attend school.
Some groups kidnap 100's of school girls because they are running low on sex slaves in their pseudo military camps.
Got guys locking down a Saudi Ritz Carlton to jail people..In Turkey 1000's of people arrested for what the Pres saw as a failed coup d'etat..
Not just Obama and certainly not only Trump have seen rape, murder and death as part of doing business.
Are the radicals crazy for not wanting to superimpose Americana over their way of life?
We can't figure out which bathroom to use. If you have a 10inch not but identify as a girl..everything is instant..total acceptance and understanding.
And the Taliban is resisting there young girls having on demand access to the Kardashian clan and unlimited 24\7 gang bang porn.
Boy are they closed minded!!!
Everything is a mess because life is messy..don't bring a black light to the hotel room messy.
But tidy little bundles like.. " Islam really got uber organized under Obama!! "That's a lil' silly. Even sillier still..most of the 9-11 terror tools came from Saudi Arabia..none..zero came from Iraq..who got bombed?
Fox news may trade between everything being blamed on Hillary or the guy without the birth certificate but nobody else should do that..

This is the good old days of whistle blowing..not this new shhlt!

Neocon talking points^

Sorry, we're getting out of this war and Syria will finally get the peace it deserves.

meanwhile, looks like its going to be a tough day for CNN and its many fans (no doubt some here)
https://summit.news/2019/10/14/project-veritas-tapes-feature-zucker-admitting-cnn-only-covering-trump-impeachment-for-ratings/
Your label, not mine. Syria has been ruled by several generations of murderous dictators and now has Putin as their Godfather. If that's merely a "talking point" in a national security debate it's a debate you and Rand Paul are having in a room by yourself.

As for CNN, Fox, all networks covering the impeachment; of course for ratings. What's new about that. The Kardashians practically own a network.

Calling people neocons or their arguments neocon talking points isn’t an argument. It’s a uninformed (or willfully ignorant) and baseless assertion.

It’s looking a whole lot less peaceful than before the idiocy. Amazing how a few soldiers on the ground can actually maintain peace. I wonder what the guys on the ground think about this new peace (is war)...

I work with a former Green Beret that had duty in Iraq and Afghanistan. He was the outreach liaison with local troops and resident mercenaries that did the US dirty work for pay. He confirmed what most are starting to confirm; the greatest expense was US Military waste and the Private US contractors overcharging. The local forces could do more with less and the value of setting up those networks was irreplaceable.
That Trump and his acolytes would now characterize the Kurds as anything but worthwhile allies is strategically, economically and ethically a huge mistake. The Kurds will fight for their survival as they've always had to aligning with Assad if need be. ISIS was threat #1 until Trump opened the Turkish floodgates.
Putin and his trolls are probably dancing with their MAGA hats on.

Oh, wait! Trump is now having 1,000 troops remain "in the area...to monitor....if ISIS returns..." That might silence several Republicans receiving constituent complaints. Strategically it accomplishes fu*k all. The horse is out of the barn.

"It’s looking a whole lot less peaceful than before the idiocy"

to you maybe because you're looking at footage abc news aired from a shooting range in the US and claimed it was Turks bombing Kurds
https://www.gizmodo.com.au/2019/10/abc-news-broadcasts-fake-syria-bombing-video-thats-actually-from-a-kentucky-military-show-in-2017/

Like I said, you support warmongers. It's difficult to respect that position.

500K people dead in Syria because of Obama and his supporters policies. Are you proud?

You take file footage and extend a very disassociated connection to a "policy" that you haven't outlined with any facts.
I'm a supporter of never going into Iraq for any fu*cking reason as there is no way an Infidel outsider force can settle thousands of years of Shiite, Shia Feyli, Druse, Sunni, Sunni Shafi, Quadiri, Naqshbandi, tribal, Christian, Coptic Christian and Jewish grievances.
George W went into Iraq and took a Texas size baseball bat to the Hornets nest, sat on an aircraft carrier and pronounced "job done". Whatever you think Obama "did" he inherited the chaos that *** Cheney manipulated that presidency into committing war acts that served the end he hoped to capitalize on. Obama's presidency inherited economic chaos and still managed a bipartisan US response focused on minimizing direct impact to the US soil. I assume that's where you are sitting and enjoying the opportunity to exchange discourse.
Trump has, without benefit of any military or diplomatic counsel to jeopardize the fragile balance perhaps more than Cheney did. You have to ask yourself who benefits from the outcome. Time to think for yourself and stop quoting from the website d'jour.

Meanwhile the Kurds have decided to ally with the Syrian government because they're no longer being paid mercenary money.
All going to plan and best result.
“Anyone who wants to assist Syria in protecting the Kurds is good with me, whether it is Russia, China, or Napoleon Bonaparte,” he wrote. “I hope they all do great, we are 7,000 miles away!”
Could your boy be any more of an ignorant boob? Yup, Russia aids Syria in it's conflict with Turkey, a NATO member..but your boy doesn't like NATO anyway..'let's make America Alone again'..

You said it yourself, Syria has killed more ISIS fighters than anybody..why not ask Syria for help against trump...err Erdogan...
Like Bush 2 and ISIS, this dirty war was created and sanctioned by your by, donnie..you must be very proud.
The result will be an unstable region, dominated by Iran, Russia and Syria...SA and Israel, I'll bet they are thrilled by the tweet-idiot in chief.
Sorry, we're getting out of this war and Syria will finally get the peace it deserves.
YUP, nothing like barrel bombing children to win the populace's 'hearts and minds'..are you really so ignorant to think Syria, dominated by a child killer, supported by Russia and Iran, is the best way forward?

Yes, there will be middle east peace, under the heal of putin and erdogan...nothing for the US to worry about..'we are 7000 miles away'..trump is an ignorant pig. With apologies to pigs.

'Warmongers'..hmm, last 2 major conflicts in the ME were started by?? Oh yes, people of your party, the bush's.
Would the situation in Syria have happened w/o bush2 removing the stability present(Iraq) with the offset by Iran? That vacuum? 6 years before President Obama was elected?

BTW-I'm sure the turkish army and it's militant extremist militias(some former ISIS fighters, now that's nice) are greeting the Kurds with fruit baskets and flower arrangements since the video wasn't legit...

not my party, I'm no supporter of the Bush's

in fact they're more aligned with your crowd. The Neocons are allies of the Democrats. They're otherwise known as RINOs. Bush, McCain, Romney etc. They're your people not mine.
Ellen DeGeneres.. your people.

Russia Says Its Troops Are Patrolling Between Turkish and Syrian Forces
The announcement may signal Russia is moving to fill a security vacuum left by the U.S. withdrawal and illustrates how the power balance in the region is rapidly shifting.
Perfect...happy now ghost? But we're 7000 miles away, gots nuthin to do with us...maybe Israel and SA..your boy's new BFF. Along with putin..bet he's lovin this..another dumm-ass move by trump=a victory for him...

Trump ended the bloody war in Syria that was started by the Obama administration. This is simply a fact.
You can talk about George W Bush all you want, its got nothing to do with Trump. Bush and Obama are buddies.

Russia were invited by the Syrian government. Unlike the US, they have permission to be there.

What do you have against Russia anyway?

Ellen? You a homophobe too? What a surprise..a proud member of don's 'base'...
I'm glad you think your boy should 'go it alone', have the biggest, bestest miltary ever..makes for good parades and $trillion deficits..
Bet you are a fan of Graham also..never saw a war he didn't like..and golf buddy of donnie the dope..guess he's not a 'neocon'...

Course, he snuggles up to real prizes like MBS and Netanyahu..another couple of real gems, err racists, err genocidal maniacs..just like your boy don.

Gee, led by a murderer, killer of those who compete or diasagree with him..what's not to like? A small man who harkens back to the old days of the Soviet empire..thinks nothing of 'annexing' Crimea and invading Ukraine..and moving on Moldova or the baltic states..trump wouldn't do a thing if he did..

Here's where you say NATO are the aggressors against the peace loving people of mother russia..

Ya know, it's all about stability in the ME...the US destroyed the counter to Iran, Iraq, and now Russia will provide that stability...having the region be a suburb of Moscow, Iran, Syria, Iraq..no big deal cuz the US is 7000 miles away'...

Pretty much all we need to hear.
This Syrian crap is mostly about getting Russian oil through Ukraine and the Black Sea. Once there the new ally, Turkey will pretty much be the tollbooth to the Mediterranean and the markets that will challenge US/Saudi interests. It's about money and global reach and Putin is winning this hand. Why Trump acted pretty much unilaterally will probably be flushed out in future history. Even hard core Republicans have to wonder what Putin has over him.
