What's happened to Puck? She's not the rider we saw the last few years.....Has the road training/ racing taken the explosiveness from her - or is she having a mini form dip.
 
Some interesting racing in La Thuile......a course which is a mix of everything; climbs, descents and technical sections.

A first XCO World Cup win for Martina Berta, well deserved, another excellent performance from Blunk. Rissveds 'only' 4th. Evie's return with a fabulous 7th place. Once again Puck miles off the pace.....really don't know what's going on......but now an altitude training camp in prep for the TdF Femmes......her XCO form has been on the slide since last years race in Andorra.

Another win for Luca Martin, ahead of Azzarro and Boichis to give the French a 1-2-3; with the Rileys in 4th & 5th.....British Cycling need to pull their finger out, no excuse not to have more than Aldridge at the front.

An anonymous Top 20 for Hatherly, which makes you realise how good Pidcock is.
 
Yeah, some exciting races - Jenny with another win - I think that's a year of absolute stellar form, almost on another level to everybody else in that time.

And the men's was great; looks like the US have come to the party with Riley, Blevins taking it to the French boys; Martin, Azzaro & Boichis......and Amos wasn't too far from the podium.

I just wish the Brits had more than just Aldridge up near the front; no excuse from British cycling......and looking at the U23 results hardly inspires much hope for the future.

Charlie is certainly pushing the envelope right now ... you can tell he really wants that next win. Making some small mistakes, but the fitness and power are there. He is a big guy ... the watt generation is just huge! For the Canucks it looks like Carter Woods is finally finding his legs. Cole is hopefully recovering from illness now. Not sure where Jen Jackson is with her knee injury though!

This Canuck really wishes they'd broadcast the U23 races. Rafaelle Carrier keeps moving up, especially in the XCCs, and the men's U23 has a large contingent of decent riders. Ian Ackert is regularly in the top 20. One particular rider from my extremely flat home province keeps improving each race, threatening to get into the points. If he does well enough, my claim to fame of getting lapped by him in a local CX race will feel more impressive.
 
Dropping the U23 & Junior Downhill is a massive mistake, yet another from WBD. Especially after they were the ones who introduced it - remember Red Bull only did Elites.

WBD are chasing the motorsport model, and going to the venues who show the money.....hence MSA getting dropped, Brasil getting cut after good races and big crowds, then going to a brand new track in SKorea with a small crowd........

Going by the MTBR forum, it seems there's a few teams in trouble..........

Do you know if there was there any full video coverage on this? All I have been able to find is a couple of 3 minute highlight videos with some wacked music soundtrack and janky speed on the women's race. It appears the event webpage has a live streaming section; however, this has an "Offline Page under maintenance" message.

Seems to be pretty sad if they recorded the race (obviously have some highlights), but either there is no full race recording, or it is so hard to find. Weird

I seem to remember they've done this before with the Euro highlights....play music over it. 2026 and they still can't stream a continental championships.

Only the Elites on Sunday get any live coverage......not good enough - and another example of MTB being miles behind promotionally...........

It was interesting to watch the racing. Some folks either staying away or clearly in a build phase for Worlds
 
Both XCC/XCO doubles in the Elites for Frei and Aldridge. Good news for Charlie as having two jerseys is something extra to add to any bargaining for a new team.
As said may times, there are very few rumours in XC at this time of year, and if there are, they're very rarely broadcasted.

Will be interesting to see were the CFR riders end up.......
