Jan Ullrich confessed to blood doping and claims to only have blood doped, having taken nothing else.

Thanks! I don't believe him. Why would you not take EPO, when it's undetectable and yet use blood bags which seems like a lot more hassle.

Take both yes, not leave EPO and use only blood bags. Not to mention that this guy had the single best physique in cycling, naturally? Bull sh!t IMO.

Reading the short article online in FOCUS, it is unclear whether he meant he never used EPO or anything else, or whther that is just a reference to his blood at Fuentes -- it was just his blood and there was no EPO in it , or whatever.

He basically says he took everything that was available to enhance his performance. Judging by the official rules governing the competition he is a fraud like everybody else who was in top 10 TDF during that period, judging by the unwritten rules in the peloton, he is a hero like Lance, Zulle, Riis, Virenque, Pantani, Contador and others.

I disagree. I think Ullrich has major balls to claim that he doped only to maintain the natural order.

Don't think Armstrong ever had the nerve to hint at that.

Yes.

Waiting until Monday to fully carve up his statements would be a rationale process. Over the years there have been many posters saying he would NEVER confess yet here he is. Maybe he'll botch it up and cause further deterioration of his credibility. Or, maybe he'll spill even more insider info #hereshoping

But, he is one of the few to take a shot at the UCI and 'others' protecting some riders, certainly more than Indurain or Roche who are so far removed from losing income they should if they actually cared; they don't. Lancey burped up further lies and half truths even in the moment of the USADA statements and impending USofA USP investigation. A passive admission of guilt vs another forced.

It is hard to tell if anything new will be revealed, but as mentioned, most would have never thought Jan even went this far; myself included.

I wish a video would be available. It is helpful to look at a person and hear tone of voice. Coments can often be misleading due to being taken out of contex or manner spoken.

And i am not talking about Lance, who is a disaster from the word go.
