Looks like US sports warnings were correct about loss of coverage.

I turned on my TV today to watch skiing and found US was replaced today by Me-tv.:mad::mad:

My supplier is Comcast and from what little info I can find may also own US.

Unfortunately I have a package from Comcast which I also use for my business so switching to Dish Network is not practical at this time.

What a surprise, who'd of guess the USA based TV channels dumping cycling

EuroSport folks, its the only way to watch! Best thing, no Phil and Paul! And they show the race to the end!

I watched Cyclocross and World Cup ski racing, besides the Bicycle racing (Giro, Vuelta subscriptions). I'm looking into alternatives. Right now, but in the meantime, I have a subscription to the World Cup Season, so that is not really affected ( I won't miss Doug Lewis' inane commentary, or his overly enthusiastic hand gesturing, one bit.- As a matter of fact, he's unbearable). A subscription for cyclocross can be obtained too. But this does truly suck. Direct TV, Dish TV is BoolSheet. Reception is sketchy where I live when it's rainy(cloudy). I had it once, and was happy to get rid of it.
Obviously the numbers have been added up, and the carriers don't think it's worthwhile to pay NBC(Universal) what they want. So, they're saying it was Universal's option to leave. Meanwhile Universal is trying to get it's followers to step up, and voice their desire to keep the channel on the air. Unfortunately those numbers don't seem to be phasing the carriers into spending more money to satisfy those who want to keep it on the air.
The dollar talks, and ****, there goes another great deal.:(

It's only on Direct TV, not the Dish Network.

This blows. I don't have cable or a satellite. I was flipping channels today before the NFL games started and noticed that US is now a country music channel. This sux bad. I am going to miss watching the Giro and Veulta.

Exactly. Now the options are to watch streams via eurosport/sporza or buy!! packages online for each grand tour on the universal sports website. It really sucks

Dear Ladyvader, go online to Universal Sports and you can get a subscription to both of those races that you don't need to miss. (like I said, earlier on) The subscription shouldn't break the bank. I've been watching them on subscription for the last couple of years. Now it will be more important than ever, since there's no TV carrier.

Look on the bright side, guy. This week Me-Tv starts airing 'That Girl' with Marlo Thomas (before she had all that plastic surgery), weeknights at 9:30 p.m. :p

Yep, that's the only way to go. The free streams are unreliable and usually lo-res when they are working. Eurosport is often geo-restricted. Universal has a season pass for about $35. Everything full HD and no commercials. Doesn't cover the Tour or the Spring Classics, however, but for what it does cover it's still the best option if you absolutely, positively can't have your racing trifled with.

Hey, I can do that. Drop the Cycle Sport mag subscription @$60/yr and I'm ahead.

I'm with you, except that I did that drop a few years ago when the internet began bringing us incredible photos that made buying the expensive brit mags absolutely unnecessary.
BTW, Versus will probably still have the more popular classics on their schedule. So the Eurosport feeds found on cyclingfans.com and steephill.tv will only have to be used for the other events. And often, they're not terrible. This new bunch of nonsense is unfortunate. But we've learned to be resourceful, to get our cycling fix, before. Good Luck.:)

For most of the spring classics etc and the Giro I have just gone online...Sporza shows excellent coverage and if I couldn't get that one of the Italian RAI usually came through. I prefer to watch the Giro on Gazetta in Italian anyway! :D
Classics in Flemish or whatever also adds to the thrill.

I just need a new laptop with excellent screen and I'm set.

I am now getting DirecTV ads at the top of my page...:p

btw Routheday...w/r to Marlo Thomas...hate to break the news to you but in the early days of 'That Girl' Marlo had already had her big nose job. Check out photos of her dad Danny Thomas on google...that was her nose before..:D

Exactly. I used to subscribe, all at the same time, to Pro Cycling, Cycle Sport America, Road Bike Action, and Bicycle Quarterly. I also bought magazines off the newstand. Now, I don't subscribe to anything, or buy any mags (with the very occasional exception). This enables me to justify whatever I spend on races online - and I'm still money ahead, way ahead!

Wow!! That was cruel! Did you spend the week before Christmas telling children there's no Santa Claus? :(

I thought with Comcast buying NBC this was going to be resolved. Sigh. I had been told from some pretty reliable sources that the US cycling coverage was going to be rolled into the new NBC Sports Network (formerly Versus)

Does NBC sports go with Bob Roll or Todd Gogulski, or retain both as color commentators??

Perhaps room for both at the Tour, we'll see. I vote for GoGo.

This also assumes both Phil And Paul are retained.

Cox communications also cut Universal and now we have a test pattern. Time to switch to satellite I guess and take my internet business with me.

I scanned listings on the new "NBC 24 hour sports"...network. Same old hockey and bass fishing. Nothing about skiing or other sports.

Keep in mind your computer must run whatever version of Microsoft's silverlight player they see fit to support. That cuts out more computer devices than ever and many Mac users. The average person only thinks in terms of Microsoft and Apple i686. Lots more devices in the world, many more in fact than Apple and Microsoft would ever dream of producing.

So, if it works, it might be nice. It won't work on any of my devices.

Are you using a Linux distro?
