Video Player Feedback

Why don't you just upload to youtube and embed those videos in the news articles instead? The one currently in use takes ages to load, the size of video window is too small and watching it in full-screen results in a horrible quality.

Uploading to youtube would result in shorter load times, less bandwidth usage for your servers, and the ability for the user to choose whichever quality suits his or hers connection the best. That and the video window on youtube is larger (even when watching it in 480p).

Im guessing they dont youtube it because then other sites can embed it. Which is fair enough, their video, they should be able to control that.

the video player is all to **** though, it doesnt resize properly within the page.

Big thank you for these good efforts to promote cycling and these humans called cyclists.
That interview with Pipo and Cav was great.
Ok, they are still not as good as interviews in Lance's bus with Robin Williams or Jens Voigt, but still time to improve.

Will you/CN go on with this in bigger races, too ? I hope so.

Cycling News set up a YouTube Channel. Article here.

I do NOT work for CN. So keep that in mind. I think this is a brilliant move. YouTube is the second largest search engine on the planet behind Google (yes, more people do searches in YouTube than Yahoo or Bing). Plus all the great reasons Qbix lists.

While it won't stop embedding on other sites, putting a watermarked bug on video is not difficult to do, and helps keep the brand attached no matter who lifts it or wherever they put it. All major networks in the US, and most minor ones, do this very thing.

Thanks Alpe, appreciate it.

Yes, the youtube channel is now up and we'll be adding more content early next week - both backdated videos and new ones from this weekend's racing.

Cheers

Daniel

Anyway the video can be in its own section with not other junk to the right of it so it doesn't chop the video if we don't use a super wide screen/window? You can amass all the junk on top and bottom of it, if you must.

Been away on a study trip so haven't been able to chime in for a while. Anyways, great that this was done.

Now I can add the clips posted to my favorites as well.
