Anyone have a profile for that climb?

Rodriguez will surly be going for the overall here (Quintana will probably try as well). Hopefully Dan can hang on though. He really deserves to win the overall in this race I think.

that climb is not all that hard, and its not one j rod cant get away on, plus its not a mtf, he still has a downhill to be caught, and garmin have a very strong team, someone like dumolion should win this stage.

I am expecting JROD to win the overall based on this stage.
Martin can go well but JROD has quite a bit of experience here.
Quintana and Scarponi to go well too.

Well he will have to win the stage and collect sprint bonus seconds without Martin scoring any. Not that easy. I think Martin will hang on.

movingtarget,

Does JROD
have to win the stage and collect sprint bonus seconds without Martin scoring any.
to win?

Or, JROD could also win by getting ahead of Martin by 18 seconds. -However, I think Martin will hang on too.

It's just that those 8 spurts, like timed release capsules, will create havoc, but for who, We must wait to see. The top 5 spots are going to get stirred and shaken. Plans are in the making, the potential for excitement is real. Let's hope We can't blink.

I can see this stage being raced hard i doubt Katusha will sit back and let people like Dumoulin sit in the peloton to snatch the bonus seconds away at the end.

That's true but Garmin look pretty good. Stetina has done well and the whole team will be there for Martin. Should be an intense stage.

I really hope Martin hangs on to 1st. He deserves it and honestly, J-Rod is getting a bit boring.

I fear that Martin will have problems if J-Rod attacks multiple times and from far out but I doubt that's the case. If he waits for the last two laps or so, I think Martin will be fine.

A huge solo attack by Purito was seen... never. Purito will rely on teammates to make the race hard and then attack on the final ascent of Montjuic. I don't know if this side of the climb will rely allow him to get away though, like in the Vuelta last year.

Yeah, that's what I mean. And I think Martin will be fine then.

That's pretty steep, I actually rode up with my bike a long time ago! Hopefully we won't have to wait for the 8th ascent to see some action...I think that in the 95 Vuelta the had climbed 4 times and there weren't many riders left for the win.

3km on Bola del Mundo was pretty big for him
