Vuelta wildcards are announced next Monday, according to @TourdeJose

Cofidis - pretty definite.
Andalucía - no Andalucía in route means no team?
Caja Rural - race starts in Navarra/Nafarroa.
Europcar - they want an invite, ASO owns half of Unipublic.
Coldeportes - haven't had a great season start, would be good to see though.
Argos Oil - ?
United Healthcare/Team Type 1 - they've spoken about wanting to do a GT?

Cofidis, Caja Rural and Argos-Shimano almost in i guess. Organisers were at the team sponsor presentation, which apparently a strong sign.

I know that Saur also are applying for a wild card. So the 4th spot should be between Saur, Europcar and Andalucia.

Edit: A poll would be good too.

thinking of it, it's unlikely to have 3 french teams. But Cofidis is a sure thing, since they're a Vuelta sponsor although they don't deserve it, like they didn't deserve the tour invite.

Yeah Cofidis don't deserve it, they've only won 5 stages and 4 KOM jerseys in the last 4 years.

Andalucía haven't even got a podium in a stage that whole time.

I'm not talking about previous years. I mean this year, they haven't shown anything till now, compared to the other pro conti teams. And i'm not even sure if Moncoutié wants to ride the Vuelta this year.

Moncoutie wants to ride it.

And the public want him to ride it. He gets such a big cheer from the fans there, more than the Spanish riders.

It would be horrible if he wasn't given the chance to ride it. Worse even than what a.. ak.. , I can't even bring myself to say his name, did to Garzelli.

If he wants to do the Vuelta, then I guess Cofidis should be in.

OTOH, If they invite Team NetApp, I will stop watching cycling.

I might be wrong, but isn't Andalucian government a big-time sponsor for the Vuelta, hence the team always gets invited?

Cofidis - Mancout
Caja Rural - if they keep going like this they should
Argos - best pro-conti team, didn't get the giro
Coldeportes - I would love to see what they can do

I would like to see Acqua & Sapone get one, maybe Garzelli to challenge Mancoutie for the KOM jersey? Wishful thinking
