As 2026 is from Monaco, I don't think they'll ride across France next year. Three Italian stages and then a transfer to Spain would be the most logical option.

That's the other obvious option, but I think Torino will want its stage start/finish in the city itself, just like in recent Giri and this year's Tour. From the article I would also be inclined to think that the Torino stage will be the first one, and a day 1 MTF would be... unusual.

Yup, some short stage on La Palma and then uphill from 0 to 2400 m. Now this is a proper, monster climb through varying landscapes! (subtropical coast, lush forests, volcanic desert). I did something similar but by hiking (and from another side).

If they would start in Piemonte, couldn't they ride towards Spain from there? Stage 3 or 4 thropugh the Alps towards Mont Ventoux, then a flat stage on the coast and hitting Spain the day after?
