Vuelta a España Vuelta a España 2021: Stage 11 (Antequera - Valdepeñas de Jaén, 133.6 km)

A short stage to take us back to the heyday of Spanish puncheurs to a finish used thrice in four years at the time. Igor Antón, Joaquim Rodríguez and Daniel Moreno won those stages, any Spaniard looking to follow in their footsteps may well have to do so from the peloton with Wanty looking to defend the red jersey.

Lots of uncategorised climbs in the first three-quarters of the stage, the two hardest of these both average about 5% for 6-7 kilometres. Shortly after the intermediate sprint, there's one final uncategorised hill:

Its descent backs into the only KOM of the day, the cat. 2 Puerto de Locubín.

From here, there are just under eight kilometres left to race, the first five of which are descending. There's a brief flat, before the road rises once more, turning into a proper murito in the final kilometre.
