So congrats to Primoz on #4. Heras' record equalled. This time Primoz had a classic preparation: TdF as a warm-up race with a strategic crash in the middle (the whole Tour would be too much). Also congrats to O'Connor on his runner-up spot and to Mas (he failed to get his beloved #2 though).

Can Primoz make it 5? Sure but it's also possible that Teddy and Skeletor will start gunning for the Vuelta at some point and they are not Spanish farmers!

I doubt there's a single cycling fan who would want 1 hour ad breaks after every 5 minutes of game play.
Sincerely I have no idea what sport you are watching and where!!!? Don't have a clue? I really don't. Bike racing is so absolutely marginalized. They jump to a race in progress, figure last @100 k should be sufficient!! Show roll out and what the network considers highlights and you are able to see the end of the race!! Can you imagine a football game were the first half of a Manchester or Arsenal game was just skipped because they can't afford to cover it!!! Never!! I primarily watch cycling on RAI( Italian network) , Eurosport and ESPN and every broadcast without exception has multiple interruptions for every type of commercial!! Food, drink, cars, Pedro Delgado riding a stationary bike selling supplements, Richard Carapaz shirtless, riding a stationary bike!! Selling bank products!! ESPN cuts away from the race for self promotion!! Boxing, motorcycle and car racing coverage on ESPN!!
Hard to believe that not seeing @20-30% of a race is ok for bike racing fans, because after all they feel lucky to see anything at all!! Badminton, handball, billiards and darts, bowling have more hours of airtime than bike racing!! I can more easily see minor league baseball or motocross than bike racing. Motocross is a great model!! Announcing team bring you up to speed about previous races, where riders are in overall points standings, how many more races until championship events.. F1 does the same thing, you can pick up watching races from any point in the season.. An outside cycling fan watching the Vuelta is in immediate state of confusion.. Race said to be very significant, no Remco, No Vingegaard, No Pogacar? Where are they? How can one of only 3 grand tours be skipped by the best in the sport? Would Messi, or Ronaldo take the day off at the World Cup? Would fans be happy seeing @45 minutes of the game!!!?
NFL solved that problem years ago!! Heidi game!!!!
And as a reference in North American TV market, advertising time during NFL games is some of the most expensive, that said, advertisers often settle for their TV commercial being viewed on split screen so fans don't miss the action.. So saying that there are 1 hour of commercials could be accurate but at almost no cost to fans, pace of play or inability to see significant action during the game!! Too many commercials, yes, too many interruptions, yes..but nothing like bike racing which goes absolutely silent for weeks, sometimes months at a time.. Pro bike racing can't figure out how to get the product to the fans, and for world majority.. Standing on the side of the road in Europe to see @5-20 minutes of anything is not possible!!!

He was basically Zubeldia with a better TT this race, and 5th is about where Zubeldia himself would have ended up in this field had he had a better TT in him.
but no, Skjelmose was third/fourth out of the gc riders on most mountain stages in the second half of the race

he said he would race conservatively and for sure he did, appears more like Valverde than Almeida with the strong final kilometre most days but guess maybe he should have gone for winning stages from breaks as well
