Stefano Cecchini from Lucca recorded the fastest Strava times on the Gavia Pass and Rombo Pass (under his Strava name ‘Cecco – LaBagarre.it’), and the second fastest at four minutes behind Marcel Wyss (IAM Cycling) on the Stelvio Pass.

Even it it wasn't for the last name, alarm bells should be ringing. Wonder which team he has been talking with?

Only positive angle I can think of is if Cecchini Snr wants to use his son to expose the shady people that are UCI in today's top cycling. Would be cool, but probably not very likely.

Some teams might want to use him as a go-between for his father's knowledge.

I doubt he will get signed.

I'm sorry but this guy is delusional. The pros can sustain these times day in and day for the duration of a season. There is a reason they are pros and he's not. I get so tired of these idiots on the road who happen to "catch up to or drop a pro" one day, on one climb.

Bahahahahahaha! I've finished in the same group as Jay McCarthy, Jordan Kerby and Michael Hepburn at Crits over the last few summers - I WANT MY CONTRACT!

On a more serious note, IS this guy related to Dr Cecchini?

The top pros would annihilate him in a race situation. There's little chance Cecchini could match a decent Pro Conti rider on those climbs with 2-4 hours of racing in the legs.

His father Luigi is a good man. Never heard or saw any doping.

“I’m the one who deserves the credit for Hamilton’s success at CSC. I’m the one who worked with Riis in 1996. I’m the one who worked with David Millar. I created a winning Ivan Basso in 2006. I’ve aided Juan Antonio Flecha. And don’t forget Bartoli, Bettini, Dekker, Cunego, Bugno, Ullrich, Sciandri, Cipollini, Tafi, Petacchi, Cancellara, Blaudzun, Breschel, and a host of others. Sure, Fuentes may have tried to invade my turf and provided products and services, but he could never emulate the work I did. After all, who got caught and who didn’t?” stated Cecchini.

When asked if he still worked with Riis at the present time, or if he’s maintained a relationship with Millar, Cecchini was coy.

“I have retired. Plus, it’s a clean era, no? Breschel’s had such a terrible run, and Fabian has been the shadow of himself, so how can they possibly [emphasis Cecchini] be doping?” stated Cecchini.
