hmmm... that's probably a good tip. I looked on the http://www.chainreactioncycles.com website and did not find any phone number, address, or email address where someone could try to reach them in case of problems. All the online stores I have ever dealt with list those somewhere on their webpages.

you might want to look a little harder. Here is the contact us page:

I think that the store has generally been quite good (others mileage may vary) but this is a short term specific issue to their card processing

It looks like they are having massive security issues with credit/debit cards. People's cards are getting charged for random stuff after making a purchase at CRC.

I haven't bought anything from BikeNashbar for the last 2 years for the same reason. 3 Different purchases on 3 different dates with 3 different cards and all 3 were compromised. Did not cost me anything because both Visa and MC caught it right away, but still a total pain.
And always check your receipts and statements even from companies you have dealt with for years (as me with BN).

A mate of mine ordered a bike from Chain Reaction. 2 days later his garage was cleaned out of bikes (only bikes, they left all tools lawn mowers etc) although they were all locked up securely. Thinking this was an isolated incident (and probably the carriers were to blame) he had also placed an internet order for parts. They never arrived. He called them and was told his credit card was declined. He called the bank and found out his card had been stopped due to a barrage of high cost purchases for TV, HiFi equip etc etc. The bank noted that he and 6 other people that day having similar issues had all shopped at Chain Reaction.......

I made an order from Chain Reaction two weeks ago. On Saturday my bank contacted me to say that someone had tried to make a £1500 fraudulent payment using my card. Luckily the bank queried it. This might be coincidence but who knows.

Sadly, I've experienced a similar card fraud recently after using CRC a fortnight ago. No large amounts fortunately and my bank have reimbursed the transactions and halted a couple of other attempts but I will be steering clear of the site for now.

Nashbar issues is a surprise to me. I have done a fair amount of business with them and never had any problem... well, except that some items were so shoddy I had to return them for credit.

I had dealt with BikeNashbar for probably 15 years prior to that and never had a problem. The first time there was just a question as I had used the card elswhere. The second time it was a clear Visacard used for that purchase only. To make sure, I did an other transaction using a MasterCard and had the same results.
I just saw another post and the coincidence here is that my fraudulent charges were also in English pounds and mostly with UK merchants. The same jerk hitting a different store? Just wondering.
