My wife and I are lucky enough to be in Bellagio for the Giro di Lombardy in a few weeks. Does anyone have any tips on a good strategy for watching the race?
We were planning on perhaps being on the climb up to the chapel (and museum), but it happens quite early in the race this year, so may not be all that interesting from a race perspective.
We also thought about watching that climb, then jumping into the car driving to the finish. The parking and traffic make me very nervous about that, though. There does seem to be a round-about route that would not clash with the race route. Don't know about congestion and parking in downtown Bergamo, though. Probably horrendous in a way that only motoring in Italy can be.
Anyway, open to suggestions.
Thanks in advance.
