Belgian team:
Tiesj Benoot Lotto-Soudal
Tom Boonen Etixx-Quick Step
Philippe Gilbert BMC
Iljo Keisse Etixx-Quick Step
Jens Keukeleire Orica
Nikolas Maes Etixx-Quick Step
Greg Van Avermaet BMC
Stijn Vandenbergh Etixx-Quick Step
Sep Vanmarcke Lotto-Jumbo
4 reserves:
Jens Debusschere Lotto-Soudal
Yves Lampaert Etixx-Quick Step
Jürgen Roelandts Lotto-Soudal
Tosh Van der Sande Lotto-Soudal

No idea what Maes is doing there over Roelandts or Debusschere (or even Tosh who has clearly been better in la Vuelta).

4 Etixx to 1 Lotto especially incredible

Isn't Bomans a big fan of the Vuelta prep before the Worlds? Maybe that has something to do with it.

Well none of his leaders are doing the Vuelta so that wouldn't make much sense..

Especially don't understand Roelandts not being in there considering he didn't do the Tour so he could fully focus on the fall classics and WC

Of course he's going to select GVA, Gilbert, Boonen etc., even if they only did criteriums in the past 6 months. It's about those last spots obviously...

yeah but if he was really that convinced that the Vuelta is so much better prep than anything else why wouldn't he convince Gilbert or Boonen that the vuelta is better prep than Canada etc.

 they have done the Vuelta many times. This year they don't and they surely have their own reasons for that. Bomans has absolutely nothing to do with that.

Petr Vakoč.

Reserves: Jan Hirt, Alois Kaňkovský and Leopold König.
Why is Konig a reserve? I've never heard of Polnický!

And ironically Koenig was leading Sky over the first section of cobbles at the TDF.

Denmark ITT:

No idea why Guldhammer hasn't been selected for the RR. He's arguably been the best Dane this year and the parcours suit him pretty well.

Leaving out Guldhammer is definitely a bummer. Cort could have made the team as well.

Who will do the work to contain the Belgians?
Who will do the work for the Belgian's themselves. Looks like too many leaders and too much ego to function well as a team.

Can't have too many leaders on this circuit. The tactics should be to send good guys from the start and force Spain and Italy to ride. With guys like Roelandts, you can do that. With guys like Maes, you control the race, but the Belgians should attack and send good riders in every break.

Yes, exactly. I can't possibly understand why De Vreese and Wallays were also not even considered.
