Why is Valverde in Plumelec on the list and not Evans in Montalcino? That stage is regarded as one of the best GT stages in many years and doesn't even get nominated!

So the question is easy. What is the best exhibition of any rider in the last five years?

And what does that mean?

The top 3 riders cunego vino and Evans on the stage. Did they attack eachother at any point? Is beating cunego in a sprint really more of a performance for the ages than guys like schleck degendt nieve etc doing 50k tts through the alpes ?

Other suggestions!

J. Rujano on El Escobero and two days later on Alto de la Letras was truly, truly epic.

Fabio Duarte on Alto de la Linea also deserves a mention. In the last 5kms he put minutes into everyone. The clock is ticking, but I still believe F. Duarte is a very rare talent. 2013 is make or break!

Vuelta a Colombia 2009 was absolutely spectacular.

I think the conditions made it a classic stage. With Vino and Evans pushing it along at the front. Not dramatic, just a real hard stage in miserable conditions.

My vote goes to Cadel Evans Galibier 2011, who grabbed victory from the jaws of defeat. This was Zoncolan leveled, Verbier vanquished, RvV caught and passed, Sastre undone: I will never forget the way Cadel dashed Andy's hopes, and he repeated it the next day on the same mountain for emphasis.

Philippe Gilbert Liege 2011 was a brutal performance. Gilbert made the competition cry, literally.

In context Contador's Fuente Dé 2012 ride was significant.

Voted for Cancellara's P-R 2011 excellent display in the end.
