Maybe this should be a poll, but I don't know how to create one, so...
My nominations for best transfer season:
1) Caisse d'Epargne - they didn't get a chance at Contador, but I think Cobo is a strong addition, and Bruseghin and Soler are due for rebound years. Losing Rodriguez will hurt (esp. on the Montelupone) but Pereiro not so much. Bruseghin could make Caisse visible in the Giro, and if Soler could return to his 07 form he could be really dangerous in the TdF.
2) BMC - will be interesting to see how this works out, but they have obviously made a major investment in Cadel, Hincapie, Ballan, etc.
3) Vacansoleil - Brice Feillu could become a star, and Ongrato should help Bozic in the sprints.
Worst transfer season:
1) Omego-Pharma Lotto - lost the team leader without sufficient time to replace him, team was invisible until late this season. I think losing van Summeren will hurt an already weak support for Gilbert and other leaders (Moreno?)
2) Astana - kept Contador, but lost the rest of the team, and seems to have shafted Pereiro, their strongest signing. Conti can probably win the TdF on his own... but he'll almost have to.
3) Cervelo - really disappointed with their transfer season. Happy they resigned Haussler, but they lost some good riders (Gerrans, Pauwels) through poor management during this season. And I don't like the signing of Theo Bos after his classless move in Turkey.
