There has been lots of talk on this forum about Fabian's current team sucking, not giving him enough support, even causing his crashes(!) from some people.

So, if you could choose a new team for Spartacus, which would it be? Some obvious picks might be:

> Greenedge, with their non-GC squad, Goss as a permanent threat for the sprints, Gerrans which is in good form, and of course Stuey!
>Saxo, they have Riis and are in dire need of big names; in terms of support... well they have "foot-soldiers" like Nuyens, I guess?
>Katusha, Astana? Feel free to suggest!

And I'd like to add that switching teams is not as simple as people think. You have to leave your long-time friends, and the transition might not translate very well on the road at first.

He seems to be a good friend with the Schlecks and I thought that RSN wasn't too bad in rvv. Therefor I don't think he should leave, he should do what keeps him happy.

He should either stay or go back to Riis. There's no other option. SaxoBank is better because Bruyneel & Schlecks are not there.

BMC, they have a good classics squad but need someone that can win a race....

No seriously, GreenEdge is looking like a good fit, or even possibly NetApp might be able to build a decent squad around him.

Saxo would be great for him imo. Sky I think had minor interest ages ago, with Flecha and Hayman ageing, he could lead the team for 2 years and teach Thomas/EBH the ropes possibly. Would be awesome if he went to Saxo though :)

But I doubt he's going anywhere at all, I doubt he signed only 1 year contract. That wouldn't be best in terms of making money. NetApp and GE couldn't afford him.

His team at RSN is not the best but it is better than what he would get at Saxo. Also I'm not sure if him and Riis have resolved their differences or not, there was a lot of bad blood after the breakup. At the time Riis said Cancellara was only going to get worse anyways so good riddance. Also a big reason why he left Saxo was Contador, so if he signs again with Saxo after his suspension I can't see how Cancellara would go back there.

I could see him go to BMC after his contract with Leopard ends, get the most CHF out of his last years

Given he's still on his contract signed with Leopard beginning in 2011 (and Leopard is still the company behind the RSN team), he's in the second year of his contract that runs until the end of 2013

I was speaking hypothetically, he's not going to change for next season ( although this wouldn't be the first time someone did that).

Argos-Shimano :)

They have a decent team to support Canc, and they'll have two cards to play. Canc can go for the solo in Roubaix, de Ronde, San Remo, and Degenkolb stay in the favourite group, while not having to work because his team mate is attacking in the front. If Canc wins, that's good of course, but if he gets caught, they still have a relatively fresh Degenkolb to play in the sprint.

Though, maybe it's more something I'd like to see, rather than it being the best career choice for Canc. ;)

Sky sounds best. I'm not crazy about the "national" teams but Sky does mix in some others and as pointed out with Flecha, Heyman, Thomas there are guys that have been at the front when it counds in one day races (well maybe not Thomas so much). Katusha and Astana forget it. Greenedge is a bit unproven and might have to reshift from the sprinters lead out men that seem to be their best guys. Saxo, in theory sounds good, but they aren't exactly brimming with calssics guys and he might be more exposed than @ RSN. The way he left Saxo was pretty peevishly, if reports are actually accurate and he just left the Vuelta without a word after a stage or something to that effect.

i think there's no difference between bryuneel and riis in this regard. all tactical tricks are vastly exaggerated. theres the only team that can build a really strong squad full of cobbled classics narrow specialists - quickstep. in addition cancellara's winning style is overly simple. he either can do everything by himself either can't do that. naturally, he can lose if all the rest do everything against him like on last year's roubaix, but again i don't see any available team that could form around him

I would still go with RSNT, but they may be reshuffled again after this year. Rast is a good asset and they had two other riders in the final chase group at Flanders. I think Phinney's contract is up with BMC. He riding PR, I think he would do better RSNT despite Bruyneel factor. Dimol is a good Classic director and could bring him along another asset for Cancellara?

You forget about Morkov Lund Nicki and Tosatto.
And Jesus.

It's getting really annoying especially jesus. none of them can survive in the bunch up to the moment when it has 30-40 guys.

Haven't you noticed some of the good results Morkov and Tosatto got?

Also, get over me being annoying. I'll continue to be this way. Just like you don't even bother to change one bit of your trolling attitude.

I thought you liked jokes - after all, you've been a fan of Andy for ages now.
