Is it just me, or is the Vuelta complete nonsense? How can a man, who broke his leg and smashed his knee about six weeks ago, be performing as a top contender in the Vuelta? He couldn't ride a bike at all for a few weeks, so at best has been on the bike for what four weeks? Pro cycling stoops to new lows. This could only occur in Spain, the worlds top destination for pharmaceutical help for athletes. Pro cycling, simply not believable. I am officially turning the TV off.

Before we go even further- It was a Tibia fracture-never a Knee injury-and the time lapse is about 8 weeks so....

but please do turn your TV off-nobody cares ;)

Congratulations, you're gonna be one of few who might get banned after your first posts:eek:

Take it to the right subforum, but the general assumption is that Contador's injury wasn't so bad as they said it was and he has been training for a month prior to the Vuelta

Welcome to the forum. Go read the rules - You can't discuss clinic stuff in the RR section of this forum.

I'm sure the man knows the rules. He just has to say a couple of things that burdens him and cant do it under current name.

Yes. A genuine new poster, this being his first post? Riiiight. Mod action should be swift and brutal. Ban OP but move his post to the Contador thread in the Clinic.

Not only should this be in the clinic, it should also be in the bin if someone thinks a broken leg can be healed with blood bags. The question from the start has always been how much power Contador can put through his bones, not whether he has he power in his muscles or not, given that he went into the Tour as one of the favourites.

While a discussion about this in the clinic is possible, its mostly just overplaying the injury. A fractured bone becomes a broken leg on popular news outlets and with that the media assumes he is out for 6 weeks at best. However, he was seen training as soon as the Tour had ended, so its just that the injury was less severe than assumed.

The fact he rode uphill for 20 mins or so after falling off would suggest that also.

This. Contador would not be at the Vuelta, if he did not think he could win. Simple as that..

Anyway of course you could disccus the Riis is able to prepare his guys this year in the clinic. But again, that should be done in the clinic.

Agreed. Very surprising that this is still alive n' kicking in the racing section though.
