Will he?

That's the question I asked myself, watching the replay of todays stage, also concidering the development since his tour victory in 2013.

I've got the feeling, he won't be on the top spot again.

If he learns to stay on his bike a little more and shows the same mental strength he did today he has a great chance of winning another GT. Not this Vuelta but I expect him to be back to his best for next years Tour.

Maybe, with pro cycling anything can happen.

Good point. Maybe he can even bounce back and win this Vuelta.

After all these are his own words:

“If you’d told me just a couple of years ago in July 2011 when I was sitting at home watching the Tour, unsure if I’d even get a contract in 2012, I’d have said ‘you’re kidding’. I put it down simply to three things – losing a bit of weight, different racing tactics and just being healthy.”

If you can take a lesson from Contador is that one bad year doesn't mean the end of you and froome had a lot of bad luck too.

He'll definitely go alien mode again in a GT. Even if he's not in alien mode he still provides us with some brilliant entertainment like today.

I voted Tour, but I know he will also win either the Vuelta or the Giro or both in the twilight of his career.

I think he still has at least three GT wins in him with a few more podiums.

"Epic" Contador ..lol..let's see ....he will still beat Quintana.
ok, I meant, this july contador (which is very likely). and if there is less than 45km of TT he won't win against quintana either.

dude, get your fact straight. Nibali is either doing Tour or Giro/Tour double, he won't be in Vuelta period.

yeah, and how do you know that? not even Nibali knows this

His Dauphine form before the crash looked like an improved 2013 Tour shape.
So, he can't be written off just because of the latest couple of months.
It, certainly, won't be in the manner of his Tour victory, but it's doable.

I've said it before but I'll say it again, LOL.

IMO his best GT days are already behind him. That was my opinion before the Tour. It certainly hasn't changed. One can only be a riding skeleton and stay on Sky's training regime for so long before the body rebels. I thought maybe the enforced break from his injury might actually help him in the Vuelta coming off a week of freshening. But that surely isn't the case.

Maybe there is some hope, heck I've certainly been wrong before :)
