World Championships 2023: Junior and U23 Time Trials (August 9, 10 and 11)

Better late than never.

The route for all TTs is broadly the same: largely flat and untechnical for the most part (the hardest "hills" are in the ballpark of 500 metres at 4%), before getting steep, narrow, twisty and partially cobbled in the final kilometre up to Stirling Castle. The hill itself is 860 metres in length.

Men's U23 TT (August 9)
This one does contain one narrower, more technical section before returning to Stirling - the B8031, right before the westernmost point of the route. It still is one for the powerhouses, though.

Women's Junior TT (August 10)
The shortest, and therefore also the one where the final climb will have the biggest effect.

Segaert obviously big favorite, but you never know with these junior/u23 TTs, riders who have shown close to nothing this year could just pop out of nowhere and put in an impressive performance. The Danes for example, Wang beat him 2 years ago but didn't have the breakthrough Segaert had so far, he has done some decent things this season tho. Then you have some pros, like Milesi (who Segaert thinks is one of his main rivals), Logan Currie, Pierna or Leonard. Obviously also a lot of u23 good TTers (Vervenne, Van Belle, Mikutis, ... but Segaert already destroyed most of them in the Giro TT and a longer TT should suit him even better I think.
