World Cycling Productions out of business? Any video race collectors out there?

Just wondering if anyone knows if this company is out of business. They've re-routed their website straight to Amazon.com and don't seem to be selling much.

I am a collector of their racing videos and I'm looking for anyone who could help me with this, either as a seller or to put me in contact with anyone who is willing to sell their cycling videos.

I know I can download races from certain sites, but I would like the actual DVD's and box covers.

Thanks in advance to everyone.

Why not record your own using a DVD recorder.

I used to do this several years ago but no longer have access to the DVD recorder (one day I will but one at around $200 when my VCR dies).

Just a wild guess here, but Berzin is probably looking for older races, no?

Yes, but this OP quote is what prompted my comment:

Yes, Granville57. I'm looking for titles from WCP's catalog, especially the older ones.

Bromley Video have a selection of DVDs. Not a big selection but some interesting things. These are not entire races though. You would think in the Netherlands and Belgium there must be some companies that cater for cycling fans with catalogues of old races.

Apparently World Cycling Productions is out of business, but I've not managed to find any details about their demise or who (if anyone) will continue to produce cycling videos for sale in the US of the great races on the professional calendar.

Another lost revenue stream for Phil and Paul...:(:(:(

I feel your pain Berzin. At one point WCP was transitioning from VHS to DVD and they were selling many of their older video cassettes for dirt cheap and I hesitated in cleaning up on the opportunity. They had old videos of Giro's, Vuelta's, Ardennes' classics, cobbled classics that were no longer in their library once they went to just DVD's. I foolishly thought that they would transfer all their library to DVD but they cut back drastically on their offerings. I was lucky enough to pick up a couple of old monument and classic videos along with the Vuelta that Ullrich won, and an Ivan Gotti Giro. I know what you mean in wanting the video in the original packaging etc... Youtube is great but it's just not the same.

Angliru-you are correct that it was a bummer that WCP did not produce most of their back catalog on DVD. That sort of cooled my enthusiasm for their videos going forward, as many of those pre-2002 races are among my all-time favorites.

Since I didn't have much storage space at the time, I got rid of most of the VHS videos I had purchased from WCP. I was an avid collector and had bought every video they produced.

Then I stopped altogether and never really got into their DVD's. Both decisions I regret immensely. I love those races from the mid-to-late 1990's, and now I'm trying to play catch-up whenever anything interesting pops up on the internet.

There's a cat on Ebay who's got almost all of the WCP catalog for sale (both VHS and DVD's), but I don't need them all and he won't (for the time being) break the set up.

I remember fondly my first-ever video purchase, the 1995 Fleche Wallone/Liege-Bastogne-Liege. Great race.
