Why is Mourey bolded? :D

Erwin and his climbing up 3 steps, each leap on the stairs ! :)

Let's remember this too:

U23 Worlds 2005:

1 Zdenek Stybar (Czech Republic) 50.12
2 Radomir Simunek Jr. (Czech Republic) 0.21
3 Simon Zahner (Switzerland) 0.25
4 Lukas Flückiger (Switzerland) 0.28
5 Niels Albert (Belgium) 0.35
6 Kevin Pauwels (Belgium) 0.59
7 Derik Zampedri (Italy) 1.26
8 Steve Chainel (France) 1.27
9 Lars Boom (Netherlands) 1.28
10 Krzysztof Kuzniak (Poland)

Styby pulls out of Pont-Château, focusing on the Worlds. I like him but I think it's a real shame for the audience, the organizers and disrespectful to his opponents.

The French will go with 4 blocks. So probably: Mourey, Chainel, Gadret and Bazin (or Jeannesson).

Nys yesterday: "it will be hard for Belgium to form one team , I don't see it happen..."

In Hoogerheide 2009, it was Boom vs Belgium. But this year it will be Stybar vs Albert vs Nys, I think...

I'm not talking about the race itself, but about the pre-race tactics. Never was the consensus that big in the Belgium team that the next world title had to go to a Belgian.

But also during (the first part of) the race it did was Belgium vs Boom, if I remember correctly...

I agree with the disrespect thing. However, having watched him all season too, I tend to feel like he'll appear in the Clinic someday with his habit of sloping off to Mallorca every five minutes. :(

More or less OK. Though for me, pre-race tactics, mostly in cyclocross, is rather fun to entertain the media.

However, having watched him all season too, I tend to feel like he'll appear in the Clinic someday with his habit of sloping off to Mallorca every five minutes.

van IJzendoorn was in Calpe this week. Shall we talk about him in the Clinic section?

----------

Temperature goes down in Sankt Wendel but the pressure goes up. I guess that's communicating vessels. :D

Hans van Kasteren still seems to have sour grapes about Pauwels' move to Sunweb as he said "he can win race, but is no media personality" and can only say "Yeah, nope or amen". :D What is a media personality? Playing in a docu-soap like Wellens.

Kevin is very popular here (he has a huge fan club) and the TV comentators like him because whenever he talks, you can always get interesting things from him. He knows his sport and he's very clever. :)

But if this can boost him for the Worlds, it's all OK ! :p

Niels is weeping again. :D

http://www.nieuwsblad.be/article/detail.aspx?articleid=GFD35CMN4&subsection=132

In the chase behind Stybar he asked Pauwels to take the lead and Pauwels responded: "He could not". But Albert couldn't care less. And he related that to Pauwels offering last year's World Cup to Stybar. :D

No Belgian block he says, I'm doing my own race.

Why is he weeping again? He should know that Sankt Wendel is hard enough to prevent any team strategy and that he is the best time-trialist on the road from the pack, anyway.

Nys : "Niels doesn't make himself popular.":p

Mourey had a minor crash last week and didn't take it over the limit this weekend cross, but will according to his own words be fine to battle for the rainbow jersey.

It will be freezing during the night. Mud will be rock hard. Predictions now are a 'speed race'. (/edit: sorry, didn't see echoes post)

Man, I hope Nys wins. But 'anyone but Albert' will also be fine. :D

Anyone from this forum will be there?

In St. Wendel at the moment.

The course is very frozen today (Friday) after being chewed up on thursday in non-freezing temperatures. There are some very nasty frozen ruts, but the organization will be smoothing out some of the worst sections which are super dangerous (don't worry, there is still plenty of tough sections with ruts).

Look for a super hard race, especially in the section between the barriers and the run up, it's deceptively hard in that section.
