Photos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Awesome! thanks

Corrections: Points jersey won by Diego Milán, not Van Der Velde. Points is for placings, as intermediate sprints awards a different jersey. Photos ITT. One picture of Marcos Capellán claims he is Augusto Sánchez. Great coverage

Excellent pictures. It's regretful your art wasn't present the whole race, as we know you may have been covering other, more important races, for the Encyclopedia of cycling, the one, the proud: Cyclingnews. Semper cyclingnews. Competion can just watch from behind

Excellent pictures. Probably next year the organizers could work it out with cyclingnews so you could cover the whole race, if your busy agenda allows it.

True. Venezuela & Cuba wanted to come, but the organizers couldn't provide them with air fare. The Kazahstan affair. USA sub-23 didn't perform as expected: Only one stage win, rest of the race MIA. But with so many races being cancelled, and if the organizers put more tougher stages in on new roads built recently, race could be 2.1 or 2.HC, thereby more teams would aim those coveted points. More prize money is needed as well. We'll get there, with a little help from our friends. Thanks

cycling seem to do pretty well in dominica now right? I se elots of new races and some good new talents although other than adderlyn cruz seme all sprinters. but that is also logical. they should ride more in foreign countries with their selection and teams I think

It's tough to put the best DR team toghether, as they ride in different places with Continental teams. i.e. Wendy Cruz in Saint Martin, Nelson Ismael Sánchez in Guadaloupe;Augusto Sánchez & Rafael Merán in NYC (as well as lots of others). They perform better on flat terrain than in the hills because most of them also ride on the track, which makes them bulkier....heavier......Also, FEDOCI has contracted foreign trainers and coaches from a country I don't wish to mention here, but we actually need dudes from the First World'. With the latest techniques on sport medicine, ..............Latest developments,...

The match sprints and team sprints coach is great. He isn´t from the COD´-INDER partnership, but rather a dominican of cuban ascendency who once showed world class potential himself, but couldn´t deal with the RedTape. Therefore, he just left family and friends, painful. Father just passed away, he couldn´t show up at his funeral. Sun remains the same, stairway to heaven

Military Games

During the next month, all these fellows will partake in the National Military Games. This weekend on the road, the next on the track. The ITT already took place. It was 40K on Mirador^Sur Park. Great times performed, considering that riders most make 8 'U' turns. It was won by the usual suspects. Augusto Sánchez (MdG) GOLD. Rafael Merán (E.N.) Silver. Nelson Ismael Sánchez*(E.N.) Bronze. The Armed Forces and the Nat'l police provide logistic support for the athletes, and the opportunity to develop into useful members of society once their sporting carees are over. After the next month, most of the more successful riders will leave the country in order to ride for Continental and Professional Continental teams in the Sotavento and Barlovento Islands and the United States. Several of our riders are ready to race at the top level now. What they need id a helping hand to show them the trails. And that's my task.
By any means necessary, provided it's legal & legit.

Track Cycling

These Islanders are better on the track and flat terrain than in the hills. We have performed quite well at Panamerican level on Team Pursuit, Omnium, Team
Sprints, and Points competition. Should do well on Match Sprints the shorter distance group races as well. As far as women cycling is concerned, we are really behind. Most women quit after a while for lack of support. We can learn from the cubans in that respect, who happen to be a Power^House.

Military Games. Route. Final criterium

The 120 KM final Criterium around the Columbus Light+House in SDE was won by José Frank Rodríguez (PN-SDO) shy of 3 hours; Anthony Rodrígez (EN-Moca) and César Marte (EN-DN) rounded up the Podium. The overall intermediate sprints was won by Marcos Capellán (MdG-La*Vega), with Geovenny García (PN-Bonao) and Ramón Checo (EN-DN), among others, also helping shake things out in order to make sure a selective sprint instead of a mass sprint would succeed, since the FAD guns of Wendy Cruz, Norlandis Taveras, Euri Vidal, and Jorge Pérez (Congrat newborn baby) would fly on such scenario. With 2 golds, the PN squad surprised everyone winning overall; EN followed, then MdG; and last, the dangerous FAD squad failed for 2nd year in a row. Now the dudes get ready for the track. A very difficult and windy 333.3333333333......track at sea level, with rough surface, and very steep slopes. That's my kids are so good at mass sprints at their level. They've been trained to race hungry, thirsty, and with PAIN.

RD MIA-POW. Cyclingnews ain't covering this gig. You guys may find some partial results on ciclismodecolombia.com and zciclismo.blogspot.com. I haven't checked velonews lately. Anyway, women 3000 was won by Colombia's Maria Luisa Calle, who's been around since the stone ages. Congrats. Marlies Mejía, the Cuban rookie, silver. USA & Canada sent second rated squads, are getting their butts' waxed and spanked by their southern foes. Women 500 mts was won by Cuba's Lisandra Guerra. Women team sprints won by Venezuela, with Colombia and USA rounding up the podium. See you later, women are waiting 4 me now!!!!!!!!

Pro-Conti vis-a-vis Pro-Tour (& UCI guidelines 4 Conti)

Now that it seems to be a fact that Pro-Tour squads will disenfranchise themselves from UCI guidelines, would riders who join the ' MARKET' be held responsible and not allowed to race for their countries in the Olympics? Who cares. Will over the counter drugs which do not help or hinder performance be allowed?Who cares. Will the sport be a poster boy'/gal Mente Insana en cuerpo Sano*!
