Yorkshire looking to bid for World Championships

http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/tour-de-yorkshire-organisers-open-dialogue-with-british-cycling-over-worlds-bid

“We’ve started those discussions but from our point of view we would love to have the World Championships in Yorkshire. It’s an obvious thing and I think the World Championships would love to come to Yorkshire. We have all the ingredients for it,” Verity said at the finish of stage 3 in Yorkshire.

Up and down all day on Yorkshire roads in typical autumn yorkshire weather? I like the sound of that!

I want one in the City of Bath more than i want one in Yorkshire. If hosted in Yorkshire it should be in York, but there aren't that many hills around York (I don't think). Bath would be perfect, yet it is ignored by the tour of Britain organisers and ASO.

Sound nice. Anything but a flat race for sprinters. When a sprinter wins a Worlds an angel dies.
Well Uk didn't make the olympics a sprint back when their biggest star was the worlds number 1 sprinter, and Yorkshire has good hills, so I'm pretty confident this won't be a sprint.

Yorkshire probably would make for a very good worlds, since you can do a very hard circuit of steep brutal climbs.

Due to the connections in the UCI, I assume its not far off being a done deal.

I am living in Bath, too. It is great place for cycling, beautiful with lots of hills.

I cycled up it almost every day for 3 years. :p A WC race, or in fact any race, in bath would be incredible. I don't understand why the ToB misses it either. I think the closest they got has been going over cheddar gorge and on east from there. Stunning scenery, architecture etc and monster hills. I don't know what could be better.

Edit: If they do have a race around bath I recommend a route up Prospect Pl lane. https://www.strava.com/segments/2262077 The only climb I've ever had to walk up. Maxes about 35-40%, i'm not sure how much you can trust the strava data. Even on google street veiw there are people on mtb's walking up it, :D

I really wish just once they's have a Worlds with a MTF. It would be awesome to see all of the world's best climbers trying to peak for the same race for once.

Head towards Alp d'Huez and then do a Alp d'Huez circuit. I'm sure they can climb it 4 times.
