Teams & Riders Brandon McNulty is the Next Great American Hope Thread

McNulty rode the whole race in the grupetto, except for the ITT, where he suddenly found some magic legs and won the stage.
He didn't find magical legs, he found the only part of the day the roads were dry, while all other favorites had to ride in the rain and/or on wet roads. No magical legs. Looking at the times of other riders in the top 10, who did ride in the rain, there is no way he would have won that TT in equal conditions.

He was still going full throttle through the ITT for no reason at all, instead of conserving his energy and helping his team win the race, while he was always one of the first to be dropped in the other stages.

Yes, but him winning was not due to magic legs. He got lucky with the weather. That short downhill section in the rain alone cost others 10 seconds.
'Magic legs' comment was sarcastic. Considering how easily he had been dropped on an easy cat 2 climb the day before, he was surely saving himself for ITT. Which shows what kind of teammate he is. There's a reason why he hasn't raced with Pog since the 2022 Tour.
