Batribike Trike 20 (Rear wheel [drive/brake side] removal)

Hi everyone,

Long time since I posted in CN forum and I don't think I've ever posted here. Apologies if this isn't appropriate.

My partner got a Batribike trike for her commute to work in summer at a great price 2nd hand and it's been doing great for 6th months.

The trike has a very slow puncture in one of the rear wheels, I'd like to get the wheel off and fit a new inner, unfortunately this is the wheel that has;

ped drive
hub gears &
rear brake

I'm mildy experienced at bike maintainance but can't for the life of me work out how to get the wheel off, the nut near the hub gear controller thing wont move and I cant work out how the small secondary chain would let the wheel loose even if i could. (Don I need to break the chain just to get the wheel off?!?!)

Any useful advice appreciated.

Oh and I know its filthy, its a well used commuting bike that will get a good clean in the spring! Don't @ me :tearsofjoy:

The quick and easy solution is to put some sealant in it.

There are manuals on this site that might help:

It looks like the axle 'idler' arm has a slot to drop the rear axle for rear wheel removal.

Did you remove the gear changer mech. to try the nut behind it? A little break free lube of some type (or even cokeacola).

EDIT: don't drop the little plunger out of the gear mech.!
