Jakobsen is my sentimental fave (not my realistic fave) in this race, it's sad seeing him struggle so much.Finish look tiny and complicated as people pointed out, I hope it stays dry in the end. Whats going on with Jakobsen..
Once again wondering how this finish got greenlit. And why not a single rider has said anything before the inevitable s**tstorm that's coming.here's a picture from today. Fairly narrow then, but should hopefully be okay
edit: 2nd pic added. Looks dangerous
Is it more that there aren’t 100% dedicated sprinter teams anymore like Cavendish / Kittel of old?Pelotons are full of clowns nowadays, they can't let a break get more than 3 minutes because they have no confidence that teams will cooperate to bring the gap down in the latter part of stage.
Looks like Narvaez has joined Jakobsen's struggle bus

Jakobsen, while one of the fastest sprinters at full speed, unfortunately can't get over a molehill to save his life, even when in prime shape. His move to DSM has not been without issue either. So far 1 win, but to be honest, his last year at SQS wasn't all that hot either.Finish look tiny and complicated as people pointed out, I hope it stays dry in the end. Whats going on with Jakobsen..
True but feelt this was another low even for him in that regard. Seems more and more like Lefevre did the right thing. Riders in the break are also far less likely to blow up now than decades past. They just ride their watts and know how long they can ride that for. Back in the day they just wanted to go as fast as possible, hoping they would make it. Now they even save some energy because they know the peloton will wait a bit before going full gas.Is it more that there aren’t 100% dedicated sprinter teams anymore like Cavendish / Kittel of old?
You were moaning about a commentator not calling splits "echelons" yesterday Toby...
Used to be absolute real low tier riders sometimes solo or duos this early in GTsRiders in the break are also far less likely to blow up now than decades past.
