What is the weight of them?

Not sure of the weight, but I found the W/kg estimation

Its better to ride flat part of the TT at lower wattage and uphill part at higher vs even power output for the whole TT. Its because one can gain relatively more time uphill (almost linear speed and power relation on steep sections) than on flat (speed is closer to square or even cube root of power).

But yeah, the question is if he shouldnt have ridden both flat parts more evenly.
I thought about it again and I actually just think Pogacar didn't pace it that negatively compared to the others. The gap just explodes cause he's a better climber than all these guys and gaps uphill are bigger than gaps on a flat section.

Ben O'Connor had a mechanical ~halfway through the stage, which cost him around 25s (gap jumps up from 57s to 1:20):

It's in the second section, so 25" faster would make him 4th fastest of the GC riders there after being the 8th fastest in the first.

Congratulations to Tadej Pogačar for winning an ITT with style.

Hard to do anything about it when Tadej is like that. Beyond that interesting development in regards to GC as a lot of movement today in this regard. I am rather happy to see Martínez and Bora to now be in second position. Interesting thing is when Ganna (and Plapp) both took down their sunglasses, at the exact same moment apparently the big three started feeling some pain again, from crashes, and enlisted at Vuelta.

Bora seem to be best of the rest at the moment - Schachmann paced himself -

"I had no split times on the radio. I did a good tempo, one that won't kill me for the next days but it was hard, and good!" Schachmann reflects post-stage in conversation with Cycling Pro Net, having been second fastest time when he crossed the line, 39 seconds down on Filippo Ganna. "Losing a second per kilometre is not that bad against that beast," he laughs. ..."I was asked to not kill myself today so I was riding a good, steady pace on the flat, just below pain level," he explains.
The BORA - hansgrohe man must have relayed this information to his team leader, Daniel Martinez as the Colombian also impressed against the clock, taking time on his podium rivals and moving up to second overall in the general classification.

No and no again. If Poga had ridden both parts more evenly, he had won less seconds back on the final km than he had lost less in the flat 30 km. But it was Ganna who miscalculated ( bad coaching of his team/trainer). In a course with mixted profiles, one who is specialist of a flat TT (and not of a steep uphill, like the first hard 1,3 km), one has to keep some reserves on ones best profile, and going full gas on ones less strong profile (the uphill).
It happened as I predicted. Ganna's legs exploded at the end of the first steep section. Therefore, He was no longer able to exert sufficient force on the last 3 to 4 km, which were only slightly uphill. With a better pace of Ganna, the result could have been close.

Ganna was riding with Classified powershift system (where Boonen is co-owner or so). He had a single 64 chainring but with this system he could go to a small ring on the climb. Didn’t know some teams were riding with this.

Was thinking how he could have a high cadence with this 64 uphill.

Why was Plapp around the hot seat? Sheffield, Arensman, Tiberi and Schachmann had all finished before him and were nearer to the podium positions for the day.
And if the pic had the Ineos trio of Ganna, Sheffield, and Arensman, it would have rivalled the Dumoulin/Van Aert one.
Plapp took over the lead in the Youth classification, so he probably stuck around for the ceremony and he probably knows Ganna pretty well from his time with Ineos.

He's good friends with Pippo, nothing more than that.

I reckon all Ineos riders were, or at least all those going for the stage.
G had a 66 chainring.
