Nah, you won't drop your direct rivals without blowing up. Better to save it for the last km.If you're feeling good and not Pogacar you may as well attack at this point. Pog will follow you and then drop you but at least you get some separation from the other top 5 contenders. Here you're risking st.
Is it futile though? Pogacar will win in a sprint anyway, but if you're a good climber and feeling good, then an attack to see if you can distance the others is not futile IMOEveryone else knows it's futile to attack, just waiting for what Pogi will do.
