That leads me to the next question. How does actual training block look like? My theory why it is so hard to do is that you can't be at your peak for that long. It takes more time to rest and peak again in between races and it is probably hard to nail it with limited time window.

I think Roglič will only follow GC attacks for now and sprint to the line for bonus seconds if the opportunity presents itself. He probably saw that Pogačar made the mistake of too any attacks form the start in TdF and learned from it. But then again I could be wrong..

Even with crashes one could argue that Roglič has preformed on higher level than Yates, Carapaz...Evenepoel didn't even finish any GTs and suddenly he is stronger? While he might perform really well this year that is still a bold statement.

How long before the race do riders have to confirm their attendance?

Did anyone find any good study how fast does form detoriate without training and how long does it take to get it back? I was wondering if Roglič might not be 100% at the start of the Vuelta but might peak in the 3rd week when there is quite some hard stages..

Is this year's easier route and relatively weak start list enough for Roglič to win even if he isn't at 100% ?
