    Why did you stop racing?

Raced for a while in my early to mid 20's, but slowly came to realise that the old saying is 100% true: A race is a good ride ruined.

    Define clean

I've often wondered where you draw the line. There's so much grey area in training and nutrition, where does it go from "training" to "doping"? Which vitamins and nutritional supplements are necessary to keep up good health, and which ones artificially improve performance? Is sleeping in an...

    Broken Toes

I broke the big toe on my right foot and was off the bike for a grand total of 1 day. This was one week before the first race of my season and there was no way I was going to miss it. Surprisigly, the stiff soles of my cycling shoes made riding just about the only thing that didn't hurt my...

    Define clean

It's awfully hard to find a cyclist who *doesn't* have asthma and need an inhaler to treat it.

Anti-cyclist hate sketch on radio - discuss

I always find it funny when the right wing blowhards on the radio spout their yearly "I hate cyclists" speech. It's a rite of spring in America. Some shock jock or political talking head will do a bit about cyclists needing to be off the roads, and how fun it would be to yell at/throw at/run...

Breathing rate per minute during a time trial effort

For the type of effort you're describing, I think it would be easier to coordinate breathing with pedal strokes than breaths per minute. At a good, hard effort that I can sustain for a long period of time (such as a long TT), I find that my breathing automatically falls on every other pedal...

    Di2 or Super Record 11

Definately the Campy 11, and I've been riding DA for years. I don't want to have a group whose shifting is dependent on a battery and electronics. I'm pretty sure Shimano have all reliability issues sorted, but I'm more confidnt in mechanical cables to get me back home every time.

What sort of tech do YOU guys like to read about?

While I enjoy reading about the bikes and gear the pros are riding, most of that is beyond my budget. A $2500 set of wheels, for instance, is great to read about but is unrealistinc for me to purchase. So I'd like to see more reviews of gear suited for the amateur who's paying his own way...

Best way, mountans or/and hills training?

Just like with any other specific cycling skill set (sprinting, time trialing, etc.), climbing takes some specific work. Just being a stronger rider over all will improve your climbing, so the more miles you have in your legs the less the grades will affect you. The best way I've found to...

    What's your dream ride?

Do you have to put an anchor on it at night to keep it from floating away?:D

    Music

It really depends on my mood and what I'm having to do. The only time I listen to tunes when I ride is on the rollers/trainer. If I'm just spinning, some Allman Brothers or Blues Traveler gets me through. If intervals are called for, I need Iron Maiden or some Dio era Black Sabbath.

    UCI Climb rankings

I'm sure they do that to give some incentive early in the race. With some KOM points up for grabs, some of the big names might take an interest earlier than otherwise and have a good sprint for the top.

    What's your dream ride?

Money is no object. What do you roll up on? I'm going with an Indy Fab SSR, Full Super Record, Zipp 404s.
