    Good cycling blogs?

Hey all, Sorry that this is blatant self promotion, but I've been writing a blog for a few months now and would be keen for some new people outside of my social network to check it out. Have a look at the link below if you're bored. Essentially I'm and Elite level aussie cyclist. I was racing...

    Are you a Vegetarian?

i think you have missed my point rickshaw. I have associated with harley on numerous occasions, and as i have said i don't like how he preaches, but he genuinely believes. This is what stops him being a scammer. And say what you will it works for him (though he is not as amazing as he likes to...

Look at me, I am a Vegan! Can I persuade you to become one too?

This is annoying me. Weight control is simple. Calories in < Calories out= weight loss. It doesn't matter where they come from. Some foods make it harder, some make it easier. If you stick to the above then it doesn't matter where they come from you loose weight. Ignore voodoo magic, diet books...

    Are you a Vegetarian?

Rickshaw, i would be inclined to disagree about Harley being a scammer. He is raw vegan, and he probably does eat 30 bananas a day. He believes in what he does, and i support that. I don't support some of the other things he does (in particular his preaching) but he does believe it.

    Are you a Vegetarian?

Harley, you really need to stop with all this BS you talk. I respect your diet and the reasons behind it. You should learn to respect others. most vegetarians don't eat " fish, chicken and the odd steak ". i have been vegetarian for over 10 years, and i haven't eaten any of these things. Next...

    Bikes in a Box

just going to stand up for specialized here. Granted i've only had top end bikes of theirs, but i think some of their accesories are the best you can buy. For instance i'm riding a different brand, with a different saddle sponsor but i still choose to use a specialized saddle. Similarly i think...

    Carbon Frames, not always best

Right.... This is obviously the first tour where people have crashed... must be the frames then.

    Garmin Power Meters: They're Coming

i doubt that the number of strain gauges would have changed the price... they are generally dirt cheap. More likely due to difficulties to fiitting everything into a pedal. Otherwise it's more of a what they reckon they can get for them

    Australian NRS sanction

There is cheating in every level of cycling. We have people get busted on state level (even as low as C-grade... though you gotta wonder whether it is worth the money of testing). We have people get done at national level, and pros get done. I'm not naiive, but i think the claims that people...

    Most disappointing riders this year

That is a valid statement in some regards. I don't think you could say his san Remo was just some luck. He was leading out Thor and just road away, and only cav caught him.. that is pretty impressive after 300km of racing. Also Haussler has acheived more than this. Multiple GT stage winner (that...

    Most disappointing riders this year

My immediate reaction is Thor. As the world champion i would have expected to see him at the top of the results sheet a little more often, but then again i think his chances for winning races are limited. I realise is way past his prime but i would have expected Robbie McEwan to pick up a...

    So who here races?

5 2nds and 2 3rds.... it's starting to get annoying but better than DNFs and the like. anyway starting to hit form, nationals series races start (for me) in a month. and have no uni for the next month either (so lots of kms weather permitting, otherwise alot of ergo :( ) Fun times hopefully...

    Garmin Power Meters: They're Coming

this is exciting news. have been waiting for this to come out so i will finally have a power metre that i can transfer between bikes hassle free and without restricting my wheel choices. just hope that it isn't too overpriced.... (under a grand would be nice, but i think that is wishful thinking)

    Gilbert @ Ardennes

cos no one is importing them... i'm not sure of the pricing, but i'd say that they wouldn't sell that well here. if people in australia want expensive bikes, they want everyone to know about (thats a little generalisation). plus people only follow the tour here so even Gilberts success would...

"Sports Team Dynasty" - Why does Pro Cycling have so few?

i think there are dynasties, but it's not as obvious. Problem is that the teams change their names with sponsors. look at USPS/Disco/Astana/Shack as an example, 4 names 1 team. If you didn't properly follow the sport you probably wouldn't realise that they are really the same team. the...
