Tour of Poland (Tour de Pologne) August 12 to 18, 2024

As of radios I think there should be full communication present. Making the sport more random for it to be more interesting is not the way to go in my opinion. I want the race to be decided with well informed decisions not chaos, uncertainty and misinformation.

Tour of Poland (Tour de Pologne) August 12 to 18, 2024

The roads in southern Poland have deep ditches due to hilly or mountainous terrain. Otherwise, there would be rivers flowing down the roads which are mostly leading through the valleys, gorges etc. I'm not sure if it's unique for Poland. How does it look in other parts of Europe with similar...

    Giro d’Italia 2024, Stage 16: Livigno – Santa Cristina Valgardena/Sankt Christina in Gröden (Monte Pana), 202.0k 206.0k

Some people here seem to be upset that riders won't risk their health and maybe lives for our amusement. At least more than they usually do, because of course cycling is dangerous sport. It doesn't mean we have to be stupid about it... Some situations should be avoided.

It should be decided yesterday that they start from the valley. Now it's a shitshow. Descending in these conditions is out of question. Dangerous for everyone involved, not only riders but also motorbikes etc.

Teams & Riders The Remco Evenepoel is the next Eddy Merckx thread

To monitor glycogen they'd need to do muscle biopsies though. Either they messed up something with nutrition, or Remco emptied his tanks more than others during previous stages (being more glycolytic rider?) ...

Low glycogen yesterday? This is something you can come back in 24h. Especially when you're chilling for half a stage.

Not only that. He is too dynamic for a reliable GT contender. Too many fast twitch and intermediate fibers. Not enough durability end endurance for a very long stage race because recovery deficits stack up dramatically. It may improve with age though.

    Vuelta a España Vuelta a España 2023, stage 1: Barcelona - Barcelona (14.8k / TTT)

Conditions are horrible but have in mind that riders can see much better than we do through TV cameras which are prone to poor lighting.

    Tour de Pologne 2023 (July 29th - August 4th)

Let's be fair. This year's edition has standard number of crashes for a WT race.

They decided to chill for a minute, contemplate life.

    Tour de Pologne 2023 (July 29th - August 4th)

I'd say FDJ guy had no idea what's going on and made pointless lead out for rival team's riders. He looked disoriented after they overtaken him.

    Tour de Pologne 2023 (July 29th - August 4th)

Similar route with the same laps were raced few times before and no such thing happened. It is in fact funny stage because it may be bunch sprint where sprinters, punchers and climbers will race each other. Top 10 from mentioned stages: 2018: Kwiatkowski, Teuns, Battaglin, Ackerman, Gasparotto...

    Tour de Pologne 2023 (July 29th - August 4th)

To be fair it was 3 guys sprinting. The rest fell behind.

Maybe be they didn't even know he was there until it was too late, and strong breakaway was already well formed.

Remco has no idea what's going on. No radios, no time gaps, racing in the dark... You can lynch me but it's damn stupid.
