    Doping in XC skiing

It is strange indeed of Bjørgen to come out with the Primolut-n story now. A quick google search shows that a Kenyan marathon runner got 4 years suspension after getting caught with the same substance, and giving the same explanation. She had forgotten to tell about the primolut medicine in her...

Extreme quadriceps starting pain after 3-4 rest days

I've had some similar experiences to those described in this thread, however I'm lucky enough to say that they went away, and are years behind me. That is the pain in the quadriceps after a few rest days ! Probably my pain came from increasing training volume very sharply, at least that is how I...

Is Odd Christian Eiking an Odd, Christian Viking?

Not much faith from the Norwegian commentators before todays stage, but Eiking did it again :-) Now the Norwegian rider with most days in red in la Vuelta, congratulations :-)

Is Odd Christian Eiking an Odd, Christian Viking?

Another great performance by Eiking today ! Maybe an indication that he can get a top 10 all the way to the end ? Great fun for me to see a local guy performing like this :-) Hoping that the top guys will just run a steady safe pace omorrow as well, and that he can hang on again :-) Showing...

    Wout van Aert

Van Aert has been strong in the mountains as a domestique for a long time. This is pretty much the new normal for strong tempo-guys. Just look at the guys pacing early in the mountains for all the strong GC teams. How is it surprising that a strong guy with a good sprint wins from a breakaway ...

    Teams & Riders Bahrain

I actually remember Edvald Boasson Hagen being asked about becoming the next Eddie Mercx. He did not know who this was. So yes it is possible that Mohoric did not know about the Lance gesture, however unlikely it might seem. After 5 hours a day on a bike, riders probably relax with other things...

    Teams & Riders Bahrain

Interesting that the police took the training files. Sonny Colbrelli who I hear many suspects in here, has an open strava-profile, with HR and power even on tour stages ! Check it out: https://www.strava.com/activities/5621377464

    Tadej Pogacar and Mauro Giannetti

I read his statement about being tested 3 times in one day. That does sound like target testing to me ? But maybe every leader in TdF would be target tested ? For comparison I remember Norwegian cross country skiers complaining that there is not enough testing, that there can be weeks or even...

    Thomas de Gendt Discussion Thread

---------------- Yes, it seemed like he was a bit resigned with that statement. I'm hoping he proves me wrong and actually goes in the break today. Can't see any sensible reason why all the other riders suddenly should be faster than TDG on a stage like this. He looked weak yesterday, hoping...

Giro d'Italia 2020, stage 21: Cernusco sul Naviglio – Milano 15.7 km ITT

That would be interesting, however unlikely it is. Lets say Kelderman is doing one of his best TTs, and Tao have a technical, or his wheel slips in a corner, suddenly Kelderman is on top again. Tao will need to go full gas anyway to beat Jay, anything can happen...

Giro d'Italia 2020, stage 21: Cernusco sul Naviglio – Milano 15.7 km ITT

I have also seen Tao in previous races and thought he could be a future GC guy. All the talk about weak field just because its not the usual riders on the top of the list is stupid. Look at Nibali, he has said he has some of his best numbers ever, cant even compete. The new generation is here...

Riders Complaints About Long, "Hard" Stages

Actual fact is it was 5 degrees and pouring rain in the starting village. The forecast in the region said 13 degrees, which is not the same as reality. Even 5 degrees is not that extreme, I just think it boiled over for the riders when being told that they had to ride 6 km more on an already...

Riders Complaints About Long, "Hard" Stages

Is there actually anybody who likes a flat 260km stage late in a GT ? It's been obvious for years that such stages are about as interesting as sitting in a waiting room. Yet as good as everybody in here are shocked and obviously misses the most boring kind of stage.... Riders getting 5-6 hours...

Ronde van Vlaanderen: October 18th, 2020

Van der Poel even repeated it, he said he was better at accelerating than at top speed so that's why he slowed down so much. Tactical genius :-) Loved to see him win after the Norwegian commentators were so sure that Van Aert would win.

    Gent - Wevelgem: October 11th, 2020

Crossing fingers for Kristoff here, he is a beast over long distances. Hoping for no punctures/technicals and staying on the bike. Extremely strong field, as close as we get to a paris roubaix this year ?
