Teams & Riders Everybody needs a little bit of Roglstomp in their lives

How about we take Roglic and Wright at their words? Here's Wright (from the stage writeup): “I think it was just a racing incident. I was coming out and around and he was coming backwards." So Wright says he was coming out and around. Sure not holding his line. Roglic says that Wright took...

    The Sam Bennett Discussion Thread

Re: That makes sense, but if you don't get to go to the races, it's hard to show them they were wrong on the bike. Being sidelined from GT sprinting until September when you've proven your ability to actually win GT sprints is a bummer, especially in a contract renewal year. I'm not sure...

Power Data Estimates for the climbing stages

Re: Using that 64 Kg figure and the published power numbers (above), the results from Stage 15 were telling. The GC battle was on during the final climb. Kruijswijk held 6.3 W/Kg for 33m54s, which means so did the small group he finished with (all finished within a handful of seconds of each...

    2015 tour de france stage 3, Antwerpen-Hoei 159.5km

Who took down Bonnet? From the replay, it looks like a rider passes Bonnet on the outside and cuts in too soon, hitting Bonnet's handlebars with his hip. At the 1:30 mark in this video, he's just to the right and behind Bonnet, while at the 1:33 mark Bonnet is already on his way to the ground...

Stage 10: Modena - Salsomaggiore Terme (173 Km)

Farrar vs Ferrari, Farrar goes down again Watching the replay, Farrar rolls up on the outside of the last curve while the guys pulling the leadout are braking. The Lampre rider, Ferrari, then swings out from his inside to his outside and sweeps Farrar's front wheel. Farrar's fault for...

    Gent-Wevelgem 2012

Great video of "Wrecking Ball" Rojas on NOS (he goes sideways at about 3:00 min. into the video; also includes slap-happy EBH, and some actual race highlights): http://nos.nl/l/tcm:5-1230502/ Amazing that CN is still reporting that a Saxo Bank rider caused the crash.

Alberto Contador suspended until August 2012 (loses all results July 2010 - Jan 2012)

WADA and the UCI were barred from presenting more of the transfusion evidence because the original charge was the clenbuterol, not a transfusion. AC's lawyers were able to prevent some of the expert testimony on transfusions from being presented, because it represented a "new" charge (which is...

Alberto Contador suspended until August 2012 (loses all results July 2010 - Jan 2012)

If the UCI/WADA are right about how the clenbuterol got there, it was from a plasma donor. That could have been anybody -- friend, family member, teammate, stranger -- and testing hair wouldn't prove anything. Their theory is that it's not about the clenbuterol. That's just a symptom of the...

Alberto Contador suspended until August 2012 (loses all results July 2010 - Jan 2012)

Entire CAS ruling available here (link on page): http://www.tas-cas.org/en/infogenerales.asp/4-3-5655-1092-4-1-1/5-0-1092-15-1-1/

Alberto Contador suspended until August 2012 (loses all results July 2010 - Jan 2012)

The WADA argument is that it probably wasn't him who took the clenbuterol, but that he got it by way of plasma transfusion from another donor.

Alberto Contador suspended until August 2012 (loses all results July 2010 - Jan 2012)

Ruling details way more interesting The whole ruling is way, way more interesting than the press releases suggest. WADA was convinced AC had a reticulocyte transfusion on July 20th, and a plasma transfusion on the 21st to keep his blood profile balanced, and that the plasma was the source of...

    Bahati deliberately crashed out?

Jake Keough finished 7th in the race, and the crash happened within 5 laps of the finish, so he wouldn't have been allowed to rejoin if he had a mechanical. So yeah, he crashed 30 odd riders out of the race, destroying who knows how much equipment and how many bodies, and then went on with...

    Bahati deliberately crashed out?

I saw the CyclingNews article about this crash, which seemed to suggest there was plenty of doubt, and then I saw the following picture: http://twitpic.com/1fcwc2 I had no idea from the article this crash was in the straight, and it's hard to see how to end up in that position...

    Cyclingnews a Team Sky cheerleader?

The "official partnership" information isn't exactly a conspiracy theory, or a secret. How about the WikiPedia Page? Here you go (do a search on "Sky" in the document): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Future_plc

    Cyclingnews a Team Sky cheerleader?

The issue, to me anyhow, is that the owners of CyclingNews have an official partnership with Sky, and this looks like it's manifesting as working Sky into every single headline where it's even remotely possible. If Sky is paying CyclingNews to run stories... that's not journalism.
