Levi: "There's more to be said..."

Here, here. Keep telling it like it is. I am more and more amazed at the seemingly total moral bankruptcy in professional sport, esp. cycling. It is disgusting.

Team Ineos (Formerly the Sky thread)

Something doesn't add up alright. He's half decent at sport and he ride for the Poms instead of the Aussies. What was he thinking??:p

    Lance Speaks...quotes MLK

LA really is Machiavellian. He has a messiah complex no doubt. Someone mentioned AH. Certainly some similarities in their make ups. But the interesting thing is, MLK is talking about Jesus when he mentions "infinite hope." He was saying things in this world and life will let us down, but...

What do dopers think of the public?

Fair enough, and you are right. The "generally public" work very hard, esp. compared to an elite sportsman. But the point still stands. Most of the worlds pop' put more effort into just surviving than an elite athlete puts into his sport - and with none of the rewards. Perhaps relative...

What do dopers think of the public?

Well, yes. But not just guys on building sites. Half the world's population live on less than $2 a day! Try this - http://www.globalrichlist.com/ We all have difficulties for sure. But pro athletes have no right to think their hardships are any greater than anyone else. B/c they aren't.
