We hope all of you have a great holiday season and wonderful Christmas. Thanks so much for being part of the Cycling News community in 2025 and beyond!
To be fair, Nys did it without having Vanthourensleestack getting in 2nd position, and then soft pedaling to let Iserbyt get a gap. Nys used his strength, only.
Wout got whiny with 2 laps left (flicked his elbow at Nys, and then let everyone go by), and that was it, though I don't think he could have out sprinted Nys today, anyway.
Chapeau Thibau! A well deserved win for the only guy who has any shot at challenging Mathieu.
Puck FTW, but an Anrooij win would be pretty cool too.
Wout should have raced 2 days ago. Based on his racing so far, he will have a very hard time dropping anyone today, and evidently, anyone has a chance to beat him in a sprint, these days.
That was my point. Also note that Hincapie was always in someone's shadow, be it Museeuw, Boonen, or Cancellara...kind of like being in MVDP, Pog, and now somewhat unexpectedly Pedersen's shadow...and my god, he lost to Powless.
Again, your dedication to being a Wout hater, is phenomenal. You're the Pogačar of Wout haters. Don't post on any cyclocross race days, then post on the days Wout *** the bed. Chapeau, Teddy!
I do hope you're right, but Hincapie never won Roubaix. Not saying he's quite at Wout's level, but they aren't completely outside of the same class of rider. Sometimes the cycling gods crack your steer tube, or flat your tire in a moment when it looks like the race is in your hands.
I also...
It's almost as if he's never analyzed any of his sprint losses.
But yes, TdG was far superior technically. Wout can't jump barriers effectively, and he gets too deep into a steep rise, in too hard of a gear, and just bogs himself down trying to power over.
That had to have been a massive...
Promising ride from Wout. I think Mathieu, as much as he was still heads and shoulders ahead of anyone else, still seemed to be tired from the 2 previous days.
Good race today, for sure.
I guess I'd hoped with the issues last year and the year before, people would be able to accept his dominance. But ya, alcohol makes some people *** idiots.
