Teams & Riders The official Egan Bernal is the new Egan Bernal thread

It certainly cannot only mean that but the discussion you need to get into is not allowed on this part of the forum. Bernal also did stay active in the last few years, he was back to racing 7 months after his crash. Vingegaard's crash was very minor compared to Bernal's, I'm sure he'll be fine.

He seems more talented on the road than MTB

ngl I find the attacking style comments quite funny when we're talking about riders that are miles better than the competition. When they're not facing each other, it's not like Pog or Vingegaard are taking risks attacking, they stamp on the pedals a bit and that's race over thanks for coming.

Personally think there's only one rider in the world that can follow an in form Vingegaard here and he's on an altitude camp preparing for the Giro. Prepare for annihilation.

Dwars Door Vlaanderen (188.6 km) goes straight through Flanders

He's definitely not explosive at all, but I think it is underestimated a bit how much of a massive effort he had to do to bridge to the group. He said after the race that he was pretty cooked after that. Jumbo helped themselves a lot immediately attacking the group after the mass crash... they...

Teams & Riders The official Egan Bernal is the new Egan Bernal thread

If talent is related to big injuries, then yeah he doesn't but Bernal certainly has the innate talent on the level of those guys. The Tour win stuff is absolute bollocks anyway. Bernal was seen as one of if not the top favourites going in and was also seen as that for the Giro before he crashed...

Junior racing - The stars of the future

He's going to have Philipsen levels of offers from WT teams by the end of the year. Think anyone that follows the american scene knew this was coming as soon as he hit juniors.

Teams & Riders Tadej Pogačar discussion thread

If anything seems the opposite. They've got a crazy hit rate on young riders not just performing but instantly overperforming what you'd expect based on their prior year.

Seems to reduce a bit of what scouting is imo. Seeing riders that aren't just very good but have a lot of potential on top of what they have is a big part of it.

Great prospect yes, but there's quite a big leap between great prospect and what we have now. If you asked someone to rate the best young prospect going pro in 2019, I can be pretty sure virtually no one would have said Pog and in that two year period he certainly wasn't the best rider coming...

Teams & Riders Tadej Pogačar discussion thread

Pogacar wasn't seen as this kinda talent in u23s or juniors. He was just very good, nowhere close to a rider you'd think was gonna be an all time great by the time he's 25. This was a guy who got out punched by Ivan Sosa repeatedly in his Avenir win and then within a year was already matching...

I’ve gotta say, I think if he could do 8.5 w/kg for 12, Pog really should be able to win solo from the cipressa without even needing a team to launch him

Teams & Riders Tadej Pogačar discussion thread

Have you ever done much training of yourself or really understand any of it? Because it requires very very little knowledge to know 8.5 w/kg for 12 minutes and a 6.6 w/kg FTP would require a track sprinter type power curve with a comically large anaerobic capacity (>100 W' for those curious who...

Teams & Riders Tadej Pogačar discussion thread

I too also have brain worms. I’ve seen some truly abysmal power data before but 8.5 w/kg for 12 minutes would be up there with a dumbass who claimed to do 1070w for a minute at 70KG

Would you like to see a return of the 100 K TTT at Worlds and the Olympics?

Bad faith argument from you because he said those two points in separate sentences. The most aero rider is almost certainly going to be the guy who has the best body position, build and ability to hold themselves in a shrugged aggressive position throughout a race. Not the guy with the fastest...
