Teams & Riders The Remco Evenepoel is the next Eddy Merckx thread

it’s insane to draw any conclusions from today’s stage. For me there is more reason to believe he will be better in week 3 than 1 as he has no racing in his legs. there is also every reason to believe that Bernal’s back will give out next week. who knows...maybe Remco loses 20 minutes...

    100th Volta Ciclista a Catalunya(2.UWT) - 22nd March - 28th March

As of this writing, I’m sure he won’t win, but I’m becoming a big Remi Cavagna fan. He sure makes races interesting.

    Paris - Nice 2021, March 7 - March 14

I guess my main point is simply that I think waiting is silly. Included in my point is that it is important to tell the whole story. Roglic was the strongest rider by a mile and lost because he fell a second time and Schachmann and his team picked up the pace (which may or may not be a...

    Paris - Nice 2021, March 7 - March 14

As much as I think crashes and mechanicals are part of cycling and waiting is silly - even as a Schleck fan, I wasn’t mad at Contador - you can hardly tell stories about this win to your grandchildren. He beat a weak field by taking advantage of a fallen rider when he wasn’t even the...

    Paris - Nice 2021, March 7 - March 14

Nonsense. The last stage of a race is still part of a race. however my issue with yesterday wasn’t the attack at the end, but letting him hang at 20-40 seconds for most of the climb.

The annual 'who wins the Tour de France poll' 2020 edition

It is a largely uphill TT, which undoubtedly helps him. i think Dumoulin is rounding into form, but this course isnt best suited for him. Roglic is obviously fit and who knows about Bernal, I expect he will be strong. I dont think anyone else can win.

Teams & Riders The Remco Evenepoel is the next Eddy Merckx thread

I am not a doctor and haven’t seen the X Rays but long ago, before my addiction to cycling, I was a competitive power lifter. During that time I was hit by a car while crossing the street and broke my pelvis in 3 places. I was home from work for 2 weeks and was a bit unstable for 2 weeks...

Tour de France 2019 stage 14: Tarbes - Tourmalet 117 km

Re: As far as Pinot is concerned, I feel that he was likely more gutted in stage 11 than he is now. He now has a strong time trial and a stage victory on a stage when people were marking him. Now he just has to keep plugging away and race smart, he knows he has the legs. The downhill...

    Le Tour 2018 stage 17: BDL to Saint-Lary-Soulan 65k

Re: He is good on the TT and looks stronger than Froome. Unless Froome attacks like he did in the Giro it’s almost a certainty.

Le Tour 2018 stage 15: Millau - Carcassonne 181,5 km

Re: ...but they won’t. Besides, they aren’t strong enough on the downhill. Doesn’t this seem like some Tailor made for a Tom Dumoulin attack?

    Le Tour '18 stage 12: Bourg-Saint-Maurice > Alpe d'Huez 175k

Re: I’ll believe it when I see the time loss at the end of the stage. Even then, I’ll probably think to myself that it is all part of the plan. ...not that I’m pessimistic.

    Motor doping thread

Re: Re: There had to have been force applied to the pedals for the crank to continue to spin like that. He clearly was either putting his chain back on or changing gears before the video starts. This is a big nothing.

TdF 2018 stage 3 TTT Cholet 35.5 km

Re: Yeah, 1:15 down was much better than I thought they’d do. So that’s 20 down to Froome? That has to be considered a massive victory.

Teams & Riders Froome Talk Only

As pure spectacle, a great day, but when a man fighting a doping case goes on an 80km solo effort, it’s a little tough to take. People are comparing it to Landis, but to me it’s more Vino from a decade or so ago. Everyone kinda knew but he went on a long solo anyhow. Btw, what are...

    Romain Bardet Discussion Thread

Re: I like Roman Bardet but this disappoints me. I like riding my road bike better as well but if you don't force yourself into that position a lot you will never get used to it. Not every bit of training is meant to be fun. Hopefully this is a wake up call and he straps himself into a TT...
