You can call someone truthfulness into question for pretending one day (July 16 2024) that he's never heard about it and the day after (July 17 2024) admit that he's done it, though.

Yeah, they were already talks about this during the sky years iirc, no idea if they actually used it.

CO use could be detected by elevated levels of carboxyhemoglobin, but the half life is short (about 5 hours under normal conditions), can be lowered by using concentrated oxygen (No idea by how much it would reduce the "treatment" efficiency), and it's naturally present at varying levels...

The 5 minutes slower claim is completely farcical, that would mean that if we were to give Armstrong's bike to Thomas/Vinge/pogacar for their 2022 ascent of the alpe, they would suddenly be slower than basically every winning time dating back to the 70's...

The funny thing with the "modern bikes" argument is, has you said, the rim brakes bikes from the late 201x were probably the peak of performance as far as climbing goes, but they largely predate the double big jump in climbing times from post lockdown 2020/winter 2023.

Does he? He's a Pro cyclist, fair enough, but those guys are not exactly renowned for their smarts or their truthfulness. He as a vested interest in saying so anyway, and appeal to authority is... not a strong argument.

The pundits of the French speaking Belgian television (former pro Cyril Saugrain being among them) are beginning to seems quite fed up with Politt. "Politt managing the gap and the GC group again" "He's a big guy Politt," "Yeah, about two Lenny Martinez, i don't understand" "Some riders crack...

Those things are not particularly new, efaproxiral (RSR-13) was already in the news at the beginning of the 00's, the few studies haven't found any PE benefits afaik, it's on the prohibited list and it's not hard to detect. Always take what Vayer says with a big grain of salt, he has a marked...

I'm not sure, before tuesday all the top 15 of the ventoux climb were from the 99/04 dauphine MTT, bar Pantani 94, i think that says something about the MTT format being ideal for a fast Ventoux climb. But Mayo 2004 was one of the finest climbing performance ever, that's for sure. You realize...

Yeah, absolutely not, the Bianchi of those times were just as light (even lighter as a matter of fact) as the current bikes, they were stiff as hell, tubular from that time vs recent tires might explain a ten watts difference or thereabout, aero is pretty marginal at the speed they climb. The...
