catastrophic tire failure - steps to take?

Looks like a Schwalbe Ultremo. Was it a regular or tubular tire? How much pressure did you pump into it?

    Flags In Le Tour

Devolder will not be riding the Tour.

    electric pedals

I don't see that working. If too much power comes from the pedals and you don't have the strength to keep the pedals flat, they will just spin around real fast. That's just dangerous.

    Fantasy TDF (looking for opinions)

I think Gesink could end up somewhere in the top 10 this year.

    Bike Weight

I have no idea whatsoever what the regulations are on weighing the bikes. Is the winner's bike weighed after a stage? Or top 10 or something? Or at random? Weighing every single bike before the race is crazy, as it would take ages to weigh the hundreds of bikes used every day and it would be...

    Conti GP 4000s

Rolling resistance is not dependent on the max pressure of a tyre, but rather on the rubber compound and suppleness of the tyre.

    Too many cogs?

Internal hub gears and pretty much every other gear system have much higher friction than a derailleur system. No professional racer would ever race on it, thus pretty much nobody would ever race on it. Those Nuvinci continuously variable transmissions have enormeous friction and are very...

    Transfusion points??

Do you have any idea how many pills cyclists are swallowing during an average grand tour day? It's a lot more convenient to just inject them, and that's what they used to do until they made it illegal.

    Transfusion points??

This picture alone doesn't say anything. In those days they would give the riders their (food) supplements intravenous as well. And testing for blood doping also involves getting a needle in your arm.

Contador & Armstrong will never be caught for EPO or blood boosting and here's why!!

To say that Contador or Armstrong must have used doping is the exact same as accusing any other professional cyclist of doping. They did not test positive nor have they admitted to doping. That's how it works in cycling, you are innocent until proven guilty. Come back when you have proof.

Why is every thread on here to do with Lance???

Why is every thread about Lance? Because people keep opening topics titled "why is everybody talking about Armstrong all the time?". That's why. If you don't make such a big deal out of it, it will go away eventually. This topic just helps to keep people talking about Armstrong.

    Gym training for cycle racing

I disagree: the squat requires your entire body to balance itself, increasing your balance and muscle coordination. With squats you will train more than just your quads and when done correctly, there is no more chance of injury than doing leg presses.

Proof of an Intelligent Creator and His purpose

I had some whole story here but you wouldn't listen to that anyway. You're suffering from motivated reasoning, there's no cure for that. Anyway, to round it all up into one obliterating piece of wisdom we can all enjoy: the Flying Spaghetti Monster. And please, if you're stupid: before you...

arguments in SUPPORT of regular riding shorts

Why do they make them? It's a really easy answer. There are lots of people who wear them on their commuter or trekking bikes. They wear regular clothing on top so bibs aren't a great option if you want to tuck your shirt into your shorts...
