Paris - Roubaix 2024, one day monument, April 7

An amazing athlete, but there is nothing about this that makes for compelling viewing. Reclaiming some of my morning I guess.

Seriously, you and I both on this one. I can't stand these two; reminds me WAAAAAAYYYYYYYY too much of the bad old days when they had their noses so far up 'someone who's ass shall not be named' they couldn't see straight. Going to hang with the Tiz feed for as long as it works today instead; D...

Paris - Roubaix 2024, one day monument, April 7

I share your interest in following Tarling and Milan today; either one or both of them seem capable of a really big day out today. That's just another of the many things I love about Roubaix; seemingly more than any other race it's the stories that play out within the race, victory or disaster...

You and I both! :) I am speaking this year just of the conditions; no question last year they had the dice roll their way as well.

Slightly damp means no mud, nor any dust, and many more options to avoid cobbles, big factors that when present(IMHO) contribute greatly to making the race more selective. I may be exaggerating a little but when it's like this it's much closer to being just another hard road race albeit one...

    The Lotte Kopecky Fan Thread

It's interesting you think she's carrying extra weight; to me it actually looks like she's gotten too thin (maybe trying to be better for the Tour or something) and perhaps cost herself some of the energy and punch she seemed to have last year? She wouldn't be the first 'power' type rider who's...

    The Lotte Kopecky Fan Thread

Balsamo made what looked like a pretty smart move on the outside to box in Lotte, and at that moment I really thought that was it for her. Super strong determined sprint to pull that one off.

    Paris-Roubaix Femmes 2024, one day monument, April 6 (women's)

Once they're out of the chicane they're not going to be hitting Arenberg in a big group, it's basically going to be single file starting from a relatively very. slow speed.

Maybe just a LITTLE overboard with the drama? :p

High-altitude winter alpine climbing: "Hold my beer". ;-)

This also sounds disturbingly naughty. How about Arenberg Rut? Oh wait....

De Ronde van Vlaanderen (270.8 km), 2024 March 31 (Sunday)

Ahhh, but this was very understated and retro imho. A veritable bouquet of good taste compared to previous efforts... :p

Once, twice, three times a Lotte victory? 21st Women's Ronde van Vlaanderen, March 31st, 2024

Easier said than done against two riders on the same team. I know, I know, Stannard, blah blah. She's not Ian Stannard.

Once, twice, three times a Lotte victory? 21st Women's Ronde van Vlaanderen, March 31st, 2024

I think that would work better if she wasn't up against two Treks; attacking in this situation almost guarantees getting chased down and jumped. In this case working to guarantee a podium and taking her chance in the sprint was probably her best chance imho.
